Canada: E-Bike Tax Exemption & Government Rebates/Incentives

I know these articles are not relevant to many members here since these articles are from Canada.

But I found it interesting and good idea.
Looks like there are many articles talking about tax exemption and government incentives for E-Bikes, since it's a very green vehicle. :)

Actually, @Timpo, we have a LOT of Canadian members on EBR; thanks for the links!

There are some cities that offer modest rebates like Austin TX does through our power supplier, Austin Energy; so check with your local electric suppliers or city transportation offices to see if your hometown is one of those. If your US city doesn't have a similar rebate program, contact local bike advocacy groups and use the Austin Energy program as a template.
 
I hope these programs inspire powers-that-be in other states and countries! Great idea @Ann M. for us to contact our local advocacy groups (we also could contact our local state legislators) to recommend rebate programs. Thanks for sharing Austin Energy's program link!
