Once I was seriously looking, I test rode the +7 first and really liked everything about it. Still do. Like rNH, I see no need for the extra speed. I love the frame and I’ve never heard one concern about it. For me the price is better, rack is better, suspension fork is better, and the CX is one of the best and the updates Trek/Bosch have offered have been great options.Interestingly, as a senior, I find going above 20 mph not so much fun, so the "s" part doesn't really matter. What does matter is 85nm, since we have some pretty steep hills in our area. In fact no matter which way I go from my house, I'll be climbing a 15-18% grade, either going or coming. Torque matters, as does low enough gearing.
Me too but have been waiting 7 months for the 625wh spare battery.I would take the 7+. 1) it has a suspension fork. 2) it has a rack. 3) I do not care about the extra display features and I do not want to pay extra for it or for the brighter headlight. 4 ) I would use the savings towards adding a second battery.
Wow!Me too but have been waiting 7 months for the 625wh spare battery.
I think the 8 Is awesome, I think the frame is the same as the 7. I also read the battery for the 8 would fit in a 7. I agree with you that as we get older, the need for speed decreases. It is acceptable to cruise along enjoying the world. We bought two 8s this spring for several reasons: better gearing; bigger battery, but most importantly, in stock vs not!

As good reason as any other!Wife got the 7 because she likes blue and it was her size, I got the 8 for the bigger battery and I like red.
8 & 7 do appear to have the same frame and should take the same battery with minor adjustments. In my experience, our two Allant+7 batteries need a bit of adjustment to the latch/locking mechanism to fit each other.I think the 8 Is awesome, I think the frame is the same as the 7. Yeah, what’s sad is that my Trek guy has ALL the parts sitting in his shop like the painted cover, handle, latch, etc. to put my spare together. JUST NOT THE FRIGGING 625!Dallant, I think you posted this somewhere else. It looks like the difference between the 500 & 625 battery is the spacer which reduced the amount of cells on the 500 batteries. Anyway, it’s a cool picture.
