First post.
So, I have been looking for an e-bike and really like the looks of the Aventon Aventure. I don't want to spend $3000 or more. Given the pathetic customer serve others have reported from Aventon, I'm really not inclined to give them any money or business.
I am looking on Amazon and came across this: https://www.amazon.com/VELOWAVE-Ele...-Certified/dp/B097DLWSFJ?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1
This sure looks like an Aventure to me.

Maybe someone who owns an Aventure can help me with this. It is certainly cheaper than through Aventon.
What do you think? Is Velowave and Aventon buying from the same factory? I mean look at that down tube....dead match.
And Velowave has an actual Bafang motor.
I'm just not sure of size. I'm 6"2" and 230 pounds. 34" inseam.
Thank you for your thoughts and assistance.

Hi Tempo. Yes, you are correct.
Here is the "Aventon" Aventure: https://greenpedel.en.alibaba.com/p...l?spm=a2700.shop_plgr.41413.12.1936962eP9EklK
As far as customer service, from what I have read on here, you won't be getting any from Aventon either.
I am able to do my own service, so that is not a problem.
This one is even closer to the one by Aventon. Look at rectangular tube rear triangle and display is identical. And a full $1000 cheaper. You can buy 2 of these for the price of Aventure. and keep one for spare parts

I would just like to reinforce the idea that these are REALLY big bikes. They even mention it in the add with the warning
"Please pay attention to the size and weight of the bike in case it is too big or heavy for you to ride. Gross Weight: 75 lbs."

Individual bike shipment from China is not cheap. Figure that into your price comparison. Brand names with a US warehouse buy bikes by the container load, lowering shipping cost.
You'll do okay in Florida with a geared hub motor, as long as you don't try to ride it too fast too far. Long rides through soft beach sand can overheat geared hub motors, also.

Hello Indianajo. Thank you for the reply. Well, I guess Greenpedal is not an option. They got back with me and their minimum order quantity is 30 units:eek:
The Velowave may be best option for only one bike. Plus, Amazon is good about returns if need be.

I am going to find out.
From what I have seen, shipping for (1) bike will run $300-$600...ouch.

You best place to start is test rides, don't overlook your local bike shops. The old saying of buy cheap buy twice also applies to ebikes as well. Especially if you don't have electrical skills to sort faults on mail order bikes.

Thanks Timpo.
82 page thread...wow. I'll have to read through that one.
You are right about same bikes...different places.
