The Green Room

I am not better than anyone else, I have all my shots and mask most of the time, People around me are dropping around me way above average,I haven't so much as had a sniffle since I have been practicing protocol. I really do not want to spend my last days hooked to a ventilator,I just had a cousin who died of covid, they took Her off the ventilator today , you want to hear BS, listen to this BS blog about how bad the vaccinations are( sorry I do not have a link) A very few deaths out of 137 million vaccinations doesn't seem like bad odds to me, suit yourself.
One thing People of this anti-vaxxer group do not realize is this, they have done the legwork for the people that wish to get rid of them, the next plague will be tailored for the group that is defiant. You have been warned.
I'm so sad for your cousin, and your family.

You're much better off, I think, especially for now, clicking the "ignore" button. There's no getting through to people like this, and your sanity and peace of mind are way more important.

Yeah, I tried. I'll go on missing posts. I'm weak-willed. So ignore works for me.
I liked the discussion here until a few decided they need to correct and enlighten the unwashed.

I could step up my discipline with that, sure. And I will, if I stick around, or if I come back. But the problem is, you can't hide your own posts from the people you ignore. They lurk, they watch, they make snide comments about you posts even if you hide them. It's like having a peeping Tom in the neighborhood.

As an HCP, I already get plenty of threats and verbal abuse from people I'm try to help, and I'm not even a front-liner! Obviously, if I'm at work, and the abuse is coming from a patient, that's just part of my job. And if that patient is a veteran or in law enforcement or an HCP or a member of a disenfranchised community, I'll take some extra s*it on that account, obviously.

But once we're off the job, we have to stay away from that. I think the first thing that happens is that HCPs start disengaging from online media, which a lot of my colleagues are doing already-- and probably, it's what I need to do as well.

Eventually, if the abuse persists, HCPs will stop coming to work. And that's already happening, unfortunately.

I really do not want to spend my last days hooked to a ventilator,I just had a cousin who died of covid, they took Her off the ventilator today ,

Aw, man. I am so sorry for your loss. That is a rotten break. Please accept my condolences. I will be sure to remember her, and your family, in my evening prayers, for whatever small comfort that might be worth.

Yeah, I don't want to die on a ventilator, either. I hear you, bud. Keep doing what you're doing, and it probably won't happen!

You're much better off, I think, especially for now, clicking the "ignore" button.

He would, but why should he have to? No bereaved person should have to endure the veiled threats and relentless abuse that our trio of trolls feels entitled to unload on everyone who disagrees with them.

I don't blame the mods. It's a thankless job. Every decent forum I've joined eventually gets destroyed. Just comes with the territory, I guess.

It was really great meeting all of you-- well, most of you, anyway! I learned SO much here.

Hard to imagine I won't be back at some point. I still have to post my review of the Moto at 700 miles! We'll see what happens. Take care, you guys!

This seems to be the trend that some dont see at all.. Strange when faced with reality everyone sees something different

Don’t take my word for it; take theirs:

  1. Joe Biden: “You’re Not Going To Get COVID If You Have These Vaccinations.”
  2. Tony Fauci: “You Become A Dead End To The Virus.”
  3. Rochelle Walensky: “Vaccinated People Do Not Carry The Virus — They Don’t Get Sick.”
  4. Alberta Bourla: “[O]ur COVID-19 vaccine was 100% effective in preventing #COVID19 cases in South Africa. 100%!”
  5. Bill Gates: “A key goal [of the vaccination program] is to stop transmission.”
  6. Rachel Maddow: “Now we know that the virus stops with every vaccinated person.”
  7. Francis Collins: “‘[R]eason to be pretty optimistic’ that the available COVID-19 vaccines will be effective against the new Omicron variant of the virus; All of the other variants that have emerged during this COVID-19 pandemic have shown response to the vaccine, including Delta
  8. Brian Stelter: “The newspaper [USA Today] describes ‘America’s fourth Covid-19 surge,’ noting this ‘didn’t have to happen,’ since vaccinations are so widely available. The headlines are followed by a call to action: ‘Let’s end it now.’”
They are blind to it. Nice collection though. Those are the liars they love. Then they lie about us. Look at who they learn from.

the veiled threats and relentless abuse that our trio of trolls feels entitled to unload on everyone who disagrees with them.
Please refrain from publishing such false information. Thank you. A quick review of posts would reveal heaps of personal abuse from those pretending to be the good guys.
Further, saying things like "our trio of trolls", is also not good community behavior

Buying green means more dishonest behavior.
That's what the science says. And it's hard to deny once you notice.
Green consumers are more likely to steal, lie and hoard their money compared with those who are exposed to environmentally friendly products but don't buy them, according a new study by University of Toronto researchers to be published in the journal Psychological Science.

"Green products do not necessarily make us better people," wrote co-researchers Nina Mazar and Chen-Bo Zhong of the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management.

The researchers theorize that the effect stems from a "licence" phenomenon: When people do something right, they feel it gives them the licence to act unethically in other areas.

Ouch. Another one gone. And EBR isn't nearly as intense as most of the net.

This isn't a Covid thread. This is a thread on Climate Change.

Edit : This is almost 2,000 posts /with maybe 1000 on Climate & Energy/, the rest maybe off topic but not that off topic.
Covid is just one more thing we have to adapt to ..

Absolutely Last Edit : Covid may be a "whistling arrow" IDK, but there are the plagues, famines, and violence linked to all extinction events ... this time the fourth horseman of declining births and shorter lifespans is worldwide...a trend that showed up in animals first, now in humans...
Well dammit, a 1000 posts oughta define everyone´s stance on it, beyond that it gets redundant. It´s
just ´talk´!

Be nice to see a dog in the green room.
My dog Jack enjoying his 15th birthday, Kyoto Four Seasons Hotel. In-room Wagyu dinner that night.

Link please?
I would like to sea(see) that as well, the "Bleaching" of the coastal coral reefs is no laughing matter . I cannot blame this on anything, the fact is concerning ecosystem changes even in the "Riparian systems" we have lost species of fish and "so help Me over the fence" the "Alder" bushes have disappeared, We have lost a lot tree species in this part of the Alleghanies, to name a few-White Walnut(aka "Butternut"), Eastern Hemlock. Green Ash, Dogwood( very much on the decline) and from time to time outbreaks of the "Pine Beetle" that decimates those crazy stands of wildlife unfriendly White Pine trees, its becoming a serious problem, with the dry summers killing the hardwood stands and at the relatively higher elevations in the East, old Ice age species are on the decline.
I have no idea if climate or environmental change has anything to do with the spread of "CWD" or not, the apex predators Bear,Coyote and yes I have seen Puma in this area seem to be on the increase etc.
My lament is, "No Country for Old Men" to paraphrase.
There are a few that even deny anything bad happened in the Gulf back in 2011, I have ceased my worrying about such matters and do what I can to protect ol'Gaia( sure its huge- OTOH, we are doing a "smack of a job" fouling the small part that keeps us alive, one day the realization will come that the Wealthy cannot flee to the gated and exclusive resort communities and escape what "we have collectively wrought".

Thank you for caring, I do not have the Fortitude to endure what the HCPs of this world have to endure in their Noble but sometimes thankless tasks, bless you and all because you Folks have kindled a "great light" and the "Great Spirit" will have certainly noticed.
Sadly I have had to leave many Forums; when the exclusive ones and resident trolls take over.

Throttle? lol
Hard to ride an ebike when you can't breathe.
Not sure why I wouldnt be able to breath?
I have had covid and so have many of my employees that I have been around.. This last wave of flu everyone has caught .. I feel pretty safe in my natural abilities.. Im young (compared to most here) so I see things a little different. One thing I have seen in my observations is as people get older they worry about things more.. Whether that is Health or climate change or just life in general.

I have meds that have worked over and over regardless of what the TV says.. Ive seen it with 3-4 guys that were real sick and on myself.... Son had covid (I believe in jan before the pandemic ) after a Disneyland visit, Cough lasted like 3 months for him.. Did I worry at first? Yes I was a little stressed.. with the average death at like 78 yrs old and the recovery rate 99% plus... what is the stress? I have no underlying health issues that fall on the list of top cormobidities that are main causes of death.

To far gone? I could say the same of the Religion most follow here but again this isnt about me or you.. just a discussion.

Climate change I believe its there, Not like you guys... This world will end and it will be by fire.. None will stop it. We as a human population may make a small change in how the world evolves but cataclysmic change? No.

One thing that I can say with certainty.. Tomorrow the sun will rise and the sun will set, At a certain time in the year it will cool and get cold and then start to warm and get hot... We call it a seasons for rational people.

With the billions of people on this planet and maybe 10% who actually worry about Climate change as a life and death difference... well it wont matter in our life time anyway.. We will al be dead in 70 years and not enough participation to make any real change so your kids and grandkids will deal with it and you wont know any different anyway..

Everyone has a comment (good or bad). Most have not read any of the links I posted but still comment.. You say Im Gone and Beyond Hope.. haaa ok but I am having the time of my life and I refuse to live under a rock...

Now lets say you are right and Climate Change is more that wealth distribution ..Well I have about another 20-30 years to hold out to see but from what I have witnessed from the age of a teen... it wont happen..

Whatever happened to the ozone hole? Remember in the 80's? Or freon? Hairspray and all was causing a hole and congress had to act... Dupont was smart.. Use climate change to keep the other companies from getting the formula as the patent was running out so they made it illegal and came up with another type of freon under a new patent to keep the money rolling in... and the natural venting of the atmosphere (ozone hole ) has grown and shrunk as needed for the venting of the world.

Like I said before.. Al Gore and the Ilk have ruined it for me... Leonardo Dicaprio said we only have 9 years left before the world eats itself... To late for any change to mean anything so hug you kids and wife.... Crying wolf only creates more skeptics.

I think people who are still normal are confused by rich hippies who worship pharmaceutical giants and need everyone to take any amount of their medical interventions that governments might demand - and shriek that refuseniks should be reviled and exiled or worse. What happened to these hippies as they bought into corporate lifestyles and became frightened of their own shadows and want their every step and heartbeat monitored by big tech?

Rage Against The Machine? 🤪

My friend that I biked with died last summer. I suspect her illness hit harder because it was hard for her to get medical treatment in a timely manner. I drove her sometimes to get a Covid test so she could get into medical facilities. It was a 50 mile round trip to the nearest testing which met the protocol that was required, and that was with her being in pain. It was very difficult for her to get treatment due to Covid protocol. Just a reminder that people without Covid are affected by those that have it.

On a cheerier note: I don't think this area burned up last summer. It was closed because of nearby fires most of last summer. I heard that "they" saved it. Here's a dog picture. I expect the hillside in the background probably burned.
