Hey all, wondering if there are any tall riders that can recommend some good rain pants. REI has 1 tall rain paints, but they arent rated that great and i absolutely hate shopping for clothes, especially pants because very few stores carry 36" inseam pants.

I used to use 5.11 pants that were a little weather resistant but the opens at the bottom were pretty wide and i remember them getting caught in the chains a lot. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I bought a decent rain jacket for about $60 on amazon that works pretty good.

Waaay back in time, there were ankle clips and also velcro straps (bright reflective ones even, for safety!) to keep your pants cuffs out of chains on bikes. They may still exist. Have you looked for them?

Hoboin, try LL Bean, maybe Landsen, Cabelas.
And depending on where you live, try some of the fishing and hunting suppliers. In my part of the U.S. fishing and hunting is popular so outdoor clothing is avaliable for tall sizes. However right now everything is in camouflage (bow hunters) pattern or blaze organge (rifle hunters). I found some good black ones at Columbia but they are not tall size and not for cycling.

Showers Pass XXL may fit, but it says 35" inseam. I have a cycling rain cape that works pretty well and it doesn't matter what your inseam is. If it is not too cold, you can just accept that you are going to get wet and bring a change of clothes with you.

Here is what a rain cape looks like. It does add some wind resistance, but it is not that noticeable at lower speeds and with a motor it probably won't matter.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking about a rain cape, i have watched a lot of reviews and that seems to be a really good option. Velcro straps could be a great idea with safety built in.
REI is having a labor day sale so i was thinking maybe some other stores are also having them and could be a good time to get something.

I wear 34" trousers, measured inseam of 33" and most cycling gear doesn't fit me either. 36" will be much more difficult to find. I do have a 5 year old Showers Pass that fits me fairly well. It's XL, I'm a 35" waist. It wouldn't be long enough for you.

I have a lot of motorcycle gear from Harley Davidson that's made in the USA. Sized for and fits taller westerners better than many of the things from Asia. A lot more money though. You might want to checkout MC gear.

I have been doing a lot of shopping and these are by far the most comfortable and best feeling pants I have ever had, they are fleece lined and have stretchy water resistant shell. These are limited in size but are 50% off with coupon code, so if they are in anyone's size I would buy some. Normally around $100 they are about $30 now
