Bicycles have been around a long time, and I would think the dynamics have been pretty well worked out. So it seems odd that small wheels, a short wheelbase, and a steep head angle would equate to more stability, which is what I equate to a track cycle (fast and twitchy handling). But I only glance at the paper and I am not an engineer.

The research involved riders wearing some sort of wearable sensor harness to record movement of arms and legs in different riding positions/wheels/speeds and other combinations, I'm not a frame designer but I find 26" wheels most comfortable and 20" wheels a bit twitchy so maybe they found a happy medium.

The Amsterdamer curve is fitted with a Rohloff hub in the rear wheel and with an electric motor in the front wheel. It can be used everyday to go to works if you are living in a town with steep slopes and during the holidays to travel long distance with up to 100 liters of luggage.
If you run short of battery power the Rohloff hub offers low gears to go up steep slope even without the help of a motor.

Klever B Speed - Klever Mobility is the European ebike division of Taiwanese scooter company Kymco. This is a full suspension ebike, one of the few currently on sale alongside the Riese and Müller Delite/Homage models and like them is sold as European equivalents to a Class 1 ebike or a Class 3 speed pedelec. Kymco joins Yamaha, Benelli, and Piaggio (their wi-bike was recalled) as a motorcycle/scooter manufacturer offering a pedelec ebike without a throttle. The Biactron direct drive rear hub motor has regen capability.

Lectro/Insync ebikes (India, UK).
Hero Cycles is reportedly India's largest bicycle manufacturer. Hero are entering the European ebike market after purchasing UK distributor Avocet in 2015 and also do ebike design work in Manchester, England, and have purchased an additional bicycle factory in Sri Lanka. Since 2016 Hero have imported their Lectro branded ebikes, but from 2019 they are rebranding their ebike sales for Europe under the name Insync. Hero Cycles plan to expand the domestic made-for-India Lectro range from 4 to 20 models, of which future eMTB's may be powered by Yamaha. The Insync brand in Europe will start with a range of 4 models according to an announcement in March 2019.

Raleigh Electric, Venture iE, this is a new model due out in the next few months according to Motostrano. Looking at the publicity image it appears to have the new lighter Bosch active line motor and 27.5”x2.4” Schwalbe super moto-x tires.

Ebike-Manufaktur 8CHT (Germany)
Uses a Gates belt drive and a new-for-2018 mid-drive motor from Continental partnering with NuVinci, called the 48v eBike Revolution system, mounting the NuVinci 380% range CVT gear hub at the crank rather than the rear wheel. The 2-in-1 system lets the rider choose automatic or manual gear shifting.
