The first 2 photos make the joy and wonderment part pretty clear. Serenity, too, I bet. I can just hear the crunching snow in the top photo, and the light and pattern in the next one are truly sublime.

Thanks. Extracting single frames from action cam footage can yield decent results. The crunch of snow was very evident on this night and its just one of many reasons why I enjoy riding during the winter.

-15 to -30 just seems outlandish here in this particular climate. People talk about different "kinds" of cold, but I've only ridden close to 0C here a couple of times.
I suppose it's likely that we are just not used to it/wimpy. Not sure. I certainly do know that the drivers here are utterly unprepared and somewhat dangerous.
And yes... I'm a "fair weather" rider to be sure... no rain for me.

I consider myself as much a fair-weather rider when it comes winter here. There are always going to be some things that we enjoy about winter and others that we’re not so fond of. The fact that, as a province, we likely have a higher-than-average amount of sunlight hours during the winter season bodes well. However, that can be offset by the extreme temperatures that we’re also subjected to and the fact that winters are long.

I spent several decades in the Mojave desert. I get a kick out of the snow birds railing over harsh winters that hole up all summer in the oppressive heat. I’m an outdoor guy regardless of the extreme.

Awesome. I heard that you folks received a dump a few days ago. I can imagine it wasn’t a pretty site on the 91 or the Metro area either.

As for me, the days are getting shorter and with sunset around 4:30 pm, I’m all prepped to go for a night ride.

The system that I use is sold and manufactured by US based Outbound Lighting. I have the EVO downhill package which likely represents the best value for trail riding as it combines both helmet and bar mounted lights. The bar mount is solid and attaching/removing the light is super quick. I've adapted mounts for both my winter and summer lids.

I’m not aware of shipping to your EU destination but if you are really interested, I would suggest that you contact Outbound for more details. I acquired my system (with discount) through a Cdn LBS an hour's drive away.

It was another awesome but rather chilly ride today along the MacKenzie Trail. I went to check out a lesser used single track and hope to ride it tomorrow as it didn’t look like the snow was too deep.

I'm seeing alot of these Unicycle.
It is hydraulic suspension to smooth the bumps .They are part of the crew from Da big golf ball. Probably mapping tasks.
