Any colder and you’ll need spiked tires to cross that puddle. The Nemesis puddle got a little longer but oddly thinner, and has started to freeze over. Crunchy...I like these tires.

Gotta say, the overall speed you keep up over packed snow or ice is impressive looking for this West Coast wimp. Some images and an accompanying video from today’s ride at the Riverbend Rec Area. Ideal conditions greeted me when I left the house with the temp hovering around freezing but the sun made it feel warmer. One half of the Riverbend Ring sports groomed XC ski trails whereas the snow-covered double track on the other side is used by the general public for hiking, bird watching or folks like me who just want to go for a casual ride on their bikes.

Weekday mornings or early afternoon usually find the ring virtually deserted.

The partially frozen river looks especially spectacular during this time of year with a foot fresh snow.

I couldn’t resist having a bit of fun with the camera just a block or two from home.

The fact that I’m running the ‘turbo’ of spiked tires (400 studs/tire), I would likely be known as the prairie wimp without them. They really are a game changer. It will be another month before the ice on the local skating pond freezes over.Gotta say, the overall speed you keep up over packed snow or ice is impressive looking for this West Coast wimp.Pretty darn cool!
There's been an alarming increase in the number of things I know nothing about. What setup allows you to embed a real-time Strava dashboard in a video?this is always a nice ride though the Riverview cemetery all climbing to the top. I thought people listed live relatives but I saw more cars then usual.
Beautiful! Where is this? What mountain in the background?
KIND of looks like swiss alps? Not as pointy to be toblerone but it does look like it.

Wise to keep explosive volcanos at a distance like that.Mt Hood
