Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

So true, danger lurks around every corner so be careful out there! Deer are very unpredictable, the strange thing is I had 2 run out in front me entering my home town a number of years ago! It was the last place I expected to come across deer! I heard a rustle from the bushes and all of a sudden 2 full size deer leapt right in front of me but thankfully I was going slow at the time as I had just completed 120 miles and I managed to avoid them!

I wasn't so lucky as I neared home though, believe it or not I was 100 yards from entering my driveway when a kid on a mountain bike appeared between 2 parked cars and we collided head on!!! I was lying in the middle of the road dazed and all I could see was the kid running down the hill without a thought for me or his bike...thankfully we were both fine and my bike survived with just a buckled front wheel  Given the choice of hitting a kids mountain bike or a fully grown deer I know what my preference is ;)
Wow I can have trouble going 120 km . I wished I had your energy to go 120 miles

Nice day here in NH. Rode back out to the USAF station in New Boston NH with my ID. Was not allowed to enter the base. The guard at the main gate said only retired military or base workers are allowed on the base. He did give me permission to take the photo of the granite sign as you enter the road to the main gate. The Klondike corner sign is supposed to signify an area of New Boston where six men went out to California to search for gold. Glen Lake is in Goffstown NH.

Which Garmin is that Larry? How do you like the GPS mapping on it?

Sort of pastoral out around Saratoga Lake this morning. Happened across a very lovely horse farm on a new road I haven’t gone down before.

And hey, Alaskan, where’s the thrilling summary of the Mt. Baker Battery Express Ride? Inquiring minds - well, nosy people - want to know!

By the way, no pics on this one, but let me throw a bone to my Pacific Northwest friends Richard and Steve, among others... you guys live in an amazing part of the country! We just spent the better part of a week out near Mt Hood marrying off our son to a lovely girl who grew up near Portland.

I had every intention of renting a mountain bike for an afternoon, but it didn’t happen. But those gorgeous green towering mountains, the forests - and the occasional volcano towering over everything - were just off the charts. What a beautiful region. I know you guys are north of there, but I gather the whole Cascades area looks that beautiful, and even an Adirondack boy like me was highly impressed.

Congrats Dave! I hope your hangover was mild.

It is the Garmin 810. When I bought it I got the North American maps for free. Have had it for 4 years. I use it for tracking my bike rides. I download the rides to Garmin Connect. The GPS mapping is fine. Don't really use it as a GPS device to find my way when I am riding my bike since all of my bike routes are thought out before I go on the ride.

I had a free morning so I decided to make the most of it and go for a ride, it was very windy but dry so I managed 45miles! It sure beats work ;) This day 7 years ago I completed my longest ever 1 day ride, just over 154 miles and its a day that will live long in my memory :) I had a Focus Cayo carbon road bike and it was such an awesome bike but on that day it let me down for the first time ever!

After about 50 miles or so I was having trouble going up the gears, no problem going down though! I had a look and couldn't work out what was causing it, I decide to keep going though as I was managing ok! On returning home and doing a thorough inspection I found the gear cable had frayed at the bottom bracket! I was so lucky it didn't snap with all that effort:eek: After that I carried a spare ;)

I highly recommend you get a proper tow-mounted bike rack. I did the same thing on my minivan and I waited too long and it messed up the rear door of my minivan.
Thanks for that. I have a Saris Bones EX coming today, and if that is unsatisfactory I'll be looking at hitch mount.
Been running the old/existing trunk rack for over 20 years, and over a year with this ebike without damage to either the car or bike. It's old, tired, and not rated for my ebike +1 weight, so has to go.
The Saris is rated for over 100lbs on my vehicle, so I'm hoping for good results.

Nice day in NH temp in the 70's. Todays ride was hilly no problem for the E Bike.
Total ascent was 2,930 feet.

From a 35 mile day along the Platte and then up Clear Creek toward Golden. I still haven't done the full out and back to Golden on trails, would be almost 60 miles, working up to it, I've gone as far as 43mi. Our native vegetation along water here is cottonwoods, willows and scrub oak; some of the cottonwoods grow really tall but they're a soft wood, prone to blowing over in winds.

After the morning ride, I swung by our local Saturday farmer's market to pick up some fresh greens and veggies for the comming week. I have retrofitted my 2019 Homage with the custom walnut fenders I had made last year, changed out the saddle for a Brooks B17 and swapped the grips for the cork version, giving some relief from the rather severe Teutonic color scheme of the Homage. I think the wood, leather and cork give the bike some much needed warmth of appearance. Besides the wood fenders, need far less adjustment and are so much quieter than the plastic SKS OEM fenders. Why did I wait so long. It so nice to have a quieter bike.
