You're a lucky guy, Alaskan. Great shots! I have great memories of your state: I drove the Alaska Hwy when it was 1000 miles of gravel !! and camped there for a month.Fantastic 51 mile ride today with two of my three sons. Julian, the tall (6'6"), shirtless one rode half the ride with the motor turned off, not just without e-assist but with the extra drag of a Bosch motor and on a 75 pound bike. Oh to be young again!

Yikes that is too hot for me ....I would have to start at daybreak and finish before noonLong string of 90's days here - 99 yesterday, going for 100 today - so my longer rides are morning only for now. The pics are from a pit stop along View attachment 35574View attachment 35575the Cherry Creek Trail, at about 10 miles from downtown.
Humidity hovers around single digits - 9% yesterday, about the same today - I'm carrying an extra water bottle in my trunk bag.
We used to have one bridge like that here in Victoria but they dismantled it recently. Unique designLate Tuesday evening I got an email from a class mate from high school who is part owner of a micro brewery. The email was an invitation to come visit the brewery next day and have an after work beer. ( after work beer does not require that you’ve actually have been working)
The brewery is located in a business building by the sea east of Stockholm, about 22km ride one way for me. Going there I tried the south route on my map. It goes partly through the woods.
Last photo is from my way home where I took the north route. Altogether a very nice afternoon/evening with a bike ride, a look at the brewery and nice chat with the beer maker. And a beer of course and nowadays that means just one if I’m riding.

It’s actually two bascule bridges about 3-4 feet apart. The first was built 1922 shortly after the canal was built or blast through the mountain. The second bridge was built 1956. I’ll try to remember to post a photo with a view from below. We used to have one bridge like that here in Victoria but they dismantled it recently. Unique design
