Enjoyed the report. Where is this ride?

The bridges are all quite elegant -- especially the first. When were they built?

It was another stellar day on the trails on a warm sunny day. Anytime it registers above freezing temps in February I take advantage of it. Looks like it’s going to be much of the same in the days to follow.

More DT mural action. Following up on my session on the trails, I briefly rode through the core on my way home.

Excellent pics!

Ok, gotta admit some of those murals are pretty cool. The next to last, with the blue face and purple hair in particular, like that one a lot.
Dave. That one is somewhat of a sentimental fave of mine as my family used to own the building (Club Café) next door. The restaurant was in our family for three generations. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and it along with the Buffalo Hotel next to it will come down this spring.

Too bad you don't live in a more colorful place.
Yep, snow tends to do that. ;)

I wish I was there too but I would need heated jock strap and riding ensemble, gotta keep the family jewels warm.
My pictures for today my typical ride home from the workshop in Kapolei to Waipahu where home is.
Stop at the Wetlands didn't see my favorite bird it's a bird that hunts fish.
It's still mucky with dry spots and I was careful to point my bike here and there so I don't get too much dirt on my jersey.
My GF threw away couple $50 jerseys already because they were muddied.

All that color downtown must be extra fun in the winter.
It’s part of a city/DBA funded, ‘Meet The Streets’ revitalization program that has been going on for the past couple of years. Our core, like many provincial municipalities has been struggling of late and local businesses are finding it difficult to convince people to return to what used to be a vibrant and thriving part of town. Tackling crime, lack of social housing for the homeless, more residential development have always been hot topics on council and it may take some time before we see real change.

Making it look more attractive, appealing and, as you had mentioned, more colourful is a start but convincing citizens that the core is still a safe place to walk, dine, and shop is proving to be somewhat difficult.

hi jeremy ........... in the uk up in the northeast info on 1st bridge https://co-curate.ncl.ac.uk/croxdale-viaduct/
and the stone bridge
Sunderland Bridge is both a bridge and a village. The bridge is a stone built arched bridge, dating back to the 14th century or possibly earlier. It crosses the River Wear, south west of Durham, and used to carry the Great North Road (now the A1).

Amazing how these centuries-old bridges hold up to modern loads. In southern Spain, they built a fancy new freeway bridge alongside a Roman bridge over a gorge. Giant dump trucks hauling ore from a nearby mine have to use the Roman bridge.

Amazing what you can accomplish with an unlimited supply of expendable slaves.
