Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

Excellent pic!
Taken on Wednesday morning (the joys of being retired!) using my old iPhone 5s; its long-suffering successor was on its way into Brisbane for another screen repair (not ebike related).

The annual Ipswich Jacaranda Festival is on this weekend and when I came back from Brisbane the enthusiastic parks and gardens workers had not only mown the grass but mown the fallen flowers scattered below the jacaranda trees which are a major part of the effect!

There've been a good few thundery downpours during October to green the grass but, I guess, there was also some assistance from lawn fertiliser liberally applied by the aforementioned council workers.

I actually think this forum section should be titled...
"Things I'd never have seen if I hadn't been on my E-Bike."

I live in Littleton Colorado. Had a pleasant ride along the South Platte paths this afternoon.
It struck me that there are so many things I'd never have seen if I hadn't been on my E-Bike.
Like this delightful bronze cast entitled "Prize Catch".

Or this delightful little rapids.

I also met and had a very nice chat with a fellow cyclist.

If you're from Denver and were around before Wayze and Goggle Maps you probably had the Mapsco... Pierson Graphics... Street Guide in your car or truck. It was the bible for delivery drivers. If you ever went to the Mapsco store on Broadway for Topo maps - you know the name Pierson.
Well - this is Fran Pierson. Somebody I spent 15 or 20 very pleasant minutes chatting with along the trail.

Somebody I never would have met...if I hadn't been riding my E-Bike.

Two moving pictures. These are typical rides of mine in the Swiss countryside where I try to link rural service paths and backcountry roads in order to avoid traffic. It's not always 100% possible to avoid cars, and sometimes you just get unlucky, but the odds usually play in my favour.

Looks amazing, nothing to beat the open road with as little vehicles as possible! blue skies make all the difference also :D I'm lucky because I live close to the countryside so I can avoid the worst of the traffic!

Whenever I'm in Western Maryland, one of my "go to" trails is the Western Maryland Rail Trail (WMRT). It runs from Clear Spring to Greenridge State Park with 22 miles of smooth pavement all the way.

Watch out for the occasional speed bump though

Start of the grey season here in the PNW. Lights and fenders pretty much mandatory for the sunset tour of the day.

Took 8 miles of double/single track to get to the beach but I was rarely 1/4 mile away from it. Did the return trip down the beach.

It’s ? season too. Nothing edible however.

I must say I so much enjoy looking at all your pictures. No matter if it’s countryside or city views. To me it’s dream material, I want to go there and ride my bike.
The US or Australia may be a bite too big but the photos are still inspiring. I’ve been on 4 organised bike tours in France and Germany. That’s far too few I realize now. Must look into doing trips like that again. Maybe e-bike this time? Or just look for e-bike rental in various parts of Europe ( or further away?)
What I hope to do next year is to rent a car and travel with my e-bike to other parts of Sweden. I’ve done it many years ago with a regular bike but that was easier as I could rent a small station wagon, take off the wheels, and just through in the bike.
I don’t ride in winter so I’ve got plenty of time for your photos and to decide what new bike to get next spring.

The US is indeed a big place to see by bike. I live on the east coast and have to travel to most of the places I ride. Fortunately, being retired gives me the time to manage these trips. In my case, I use a pickup truck to carry my bikes but that still limits my travels to the eastern half of the country. There are so many wonderful places to ride out west as mentioned by other posters. Flying out to the west coast and renting a bike or even shipping mine are options I'm looking at. In any case, enjoy the search for your new ebike over the winter. You certainly have found the right place for ebike information!

Such a beautiful crisp day , for the time of year it was one of my best local trips ever :D Another 50 miler and only a gentle breeze for a change, only 42F but I was dressed for it! Some very beautiful views in the sun today, sometimes we forget how beautiful it is in our own back yard:) I am still on cloud 9 looking back on my day, cycling doesn't get much better than this :D

Brisbane Riverwalk and the Story Bridge, Queensland, Australia ...
2018_09_19_story_bridge_aaa.jpg

  • Above: Looking upriver from the Brisbane Riverwalk to the Story Bridge (with cycle and pedestrian ways on either side) with Brisbane CBD beyond. Montrealers might 'recognise' the bridge!
  • Below: Looking downriver from the Story Bridge to where the first photo was taken (shelter about to be passed by CityCat ferry).

Nice! Can't wait to visit...! Though Sept. 2020 is still so far away, and feels even more so when looking at pictures like this!
(But, I'll be meeting up with my Aussie friend next weekend as luck would have it, as she comes through Chicago on her America visit, before heading back to Oz.)

Was that cycling path built after the floods ? (Reply to query below.)
The original Brisbane Riverwalk (2003-2011) was a floating concrete structure restrained by pairs of pylons of the sort that one sees in canal developments. No matter what the tidal state of the river might be, you could ride your bike just above the level of the water. It was fun.

Then came the January 2011 summer rains and the waters of the Wivenhoe Dam (near where I ride on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail) rose well above the 100% full level. The flood gates were opened to save the dam and the next day Brisbane CBD and riverside suburbs went under.

True to its design, the Riverwalk floated up on its pylons: up and up... and away. Gone! Never to return.

In 2014 the new non-floating, and therefore non-absconding, Brisbane Riverwalk shown in the photos was opened.
