Love this thread! South Ponto Beach, Carlsbad, north San Diego County, California -- about 10 minutes from home by bike.

Had to walk the bike ~50 m to this spot, as the pebbles were like walking on ball bearings, and the fine sand I had to cross first was way too dry. Walking mode made it much less of a slog.

Nice! What a great place to hang your hat. My folks used to have a holiday home further inland in Escondido.

No riding today as there was simply too much snow to deal with on a bike let alone driving in the city and being that it was Sunday, there were no crews to plow the streets. I couldn’t even get the sun to come out and play nice for the camera. It resulted in some stark wintry scenes from the Riverbend Rec Park which is a popular area for XC skiers or for those simply wishing to take advantage of the wooded hiking trails. The river wraps itself around 420 acres of forested parkland.

It would amount to utter heresy tramping through the neatly groomed XC trails that ring the park. Walking along either sides of the trail is considered proper etiquette.

Just be prepared to wear appropriate foot gear.

I'm guessin you know the superintendent? They generally frown on vehicles on their greens!! ;)
I did ask "a manager" two years ago If I may ride the golf cart trails before or after operating hours. He said it was 'ok" with him. I have only walked my bike onto the green(s) for a picture, I never ride the greens. The fairways and the rest of the course are not in any way affected by my gentle, respectful riding style while on the course, but I mostly stick to the paved golf cart trails. With all that being said, I have scoped out the emergency egress routes, just in case. :)

Golf courses are really picky about there greens, I’m betting they don’t even want you walking on them with a bike. I always remember a buddy who worked at a golf course, there was an indent on the green like someone had been laying on it then a used condom thrown off to the side. He thought it was funny but the head greens keeper didn’t.

Must be warm over there.
The horses are not wearing robes.
I have a Korean made massage recliner it helps ease my back after 1-2 hours on the saddle. It even has foot massage.

That’s weird, we visited the Biltmore house 2 months ago, I don’t remember the lake.
