As clean as it gets and will be until next overhaul.

Due to medical reasons I have had to be off the bike for about a month. Missed the last of the Indian Summer, as well as the Chanterelle season.....Now it is back to being typical coastal OR weather but I had the bike all ready to go and wasn't to be denied and luckily a big sucker hole formed and I was able to get in 20 miles of smiles. So good to be back in the saddle!!!!

Glad you're back up for it!

I have been experiencing cramps on my fingers particularly my dominant right hand. A good friend of many years says "Drink a shot of pickle cucumber juice it will make go away. " He is an avid fisherman.
So I asked my Sister to make me pickles.
I was at work and Sister texted and asked what time I will be home so my nephew can drop my off pickled cucumbers to my house. I messaged her back, saying I will stop over to pick it up.
Here are pictures of my detour from my normal route to home from work.
Pickle Ride is what I call it.

Glad your are back in the saddle.

Stop at my 5mile marker on a bike path under construction. It's coming along nicely here is before and current condition final dressing on surface is next. It never fails to satisfy, now the terrain is almost similar to riding on pack gravel.

After 10 miles out Da Bull still had plenty juice left and I was feeling good. Via rail trails that I use to commute daily I set off towards the ocean, Barbers Point Harbor west shore of Oahu. View of Waianae Mountain Range is breathtaking from this point and the ocean breeze is very relaxing I can literally feel my lungs open up after some hard pedaling.
Across the harbor is Marriott resort along the shore line are a couple locals fishing and left their moped bikes by the picnic table unlocked.
On the return ride Da Bull's display malfunctioned, it stopped showing my speed no effect on rideability. I was perhaps 4-5 miles from the Dealer so I made an unplanned visit to have it checked out. Josh the tech on duty suspects a faulty lead wire for the sensor.
He needs to perform a more thorough diagnosis and suggested to leave the bike. He was honest when he said it could take a while this time due to other ebikes being in the shop for repairs. With that said, I'm a bit bummed out also when I called my GF for a ride, her group was still on the 12th hole. I ended up riding the bus. Man I need a drink 🍸.
Oh yeah pictures. 😎

Even though I tested pos for Covid the other day I felt compelled to at least try to get out on a rare sunny day today. At 7C I guess I'll call it "brisk". Needed my heated gloves which of course I forgot to charge up, and the right one quit halfway through. That's OK, they're still good and thick... like my head...

Anyway, there was a storm with high winds last night, and it's been raining quite a bit so I just stuck to some roads and tooled around.

This was an example of what was seen everywhere. Branches dried from a long summer with no rain, snapped off and strewn about...

The worst I saw was this good sized tree across this road. It took out a lamppost...

Leftovers from another time...

Can you name any of these people?

Hull, Prefontaine, Elvis, Dalai Lama, MLK, Louis Armstrong, ?, Lindberg, Marilyn Monroe, Buzz Aldrin, Bill Gates, ?, Mother Theresa, Ghandi, Einstein, Princess Diana, JFK, Washington?

I’m surprised that old home made it through the wind storm. Perhaps it has better bones than what otherwise appears.

As for the mural, seeing that I was a huge Habs fan back in the 70s, I believe that first iconic figure to be Maurice, 'The Rocket Richard’ and not Bobby Hull. No mistaking that the man with the hat below Bill Gates is Walt Disney but I would never have guessed who the astronaut was and who is the man with the hat after Louis Armstrong?

Finally on 6th inning a score.
Hey Dave have a couple shots of Stoli for your covid.
I was going to guess Tupac but after a few glance Ghandi is correct.

I'm curious about your heated gloves. I tried a pair and they were so huge it was ridiculous.
As for the wind around here, here's one from earlier......

Hard for those heated gloves to be slim in any way, that's for sure! Mine are the Sabot Heat 2021 version, here's the 2022 version https://www.amazon.ca/SabotHeat-202...cCI6IjIuMTYifQ==&sprefix=sabot,aps,143&sr=8-5

Yes, they are bulky no doubt. But I seem to be able to deal with shifting and braking just fine. Anything that requires more dexterity (garmin/cellphone/helmet clips/zippers/etc.) means I'm taking them off.
That said, warm hands wins for me.

This is what I'm doing today.
Rotate brake pads, remove thorns, refresh sealant ,lube drive train and inspect pivot points 👉. $5 each on Raiders and Dolphins.

Haven't been able to get up to the road project for awhile and they sure have made some progress. There is a huge dip where the picture was taken from that now is looking pretty level at least at road width.

Road Gap.jpg
What they are using is a product called "Geo Block" and they are the big blocks in the one picture. And yes they do look like foam because they are......

Geo Blocks.jpg

The next section which is to the north still needs alot of work it seems. I am surprised that the steep banks in the pictures seem to be holding up pretty well without erosion going on.

Wasn't real happy to see this brand new Tree Whacker parked at the base of our reclaimed trail system that is off the new road way. They had cut back the ROW with another one like it but it looks like they are getting ready to get serious about it probably when they can use the new road to haul out the wood.

Tree Whacker.jpg

I went in via trails and went out the new road which at this point looks like about the final road base in that section. There is a DH bit back down to the main road that is a reclaimed single track trail we made and that rode well with out any fresh obstacles to clear.
