Time and the elements take their toll on Higo & Julet connectors. I've had several go bad in the last couple of years. Rather than replace them, which involves fine wire soldering, I've had good luck cleaning the contacts with this welding tip cleaner set:

Deoxit is a great contact cleaner that takes the oxidation off the surface and leaves a protective film. Less wear on the contact with Deoxit than from a mechanical abrasion.

I think or look like he was polishing the female side of connectors no mechanical abrasion brah?

Yes, Detoxit works well for larger contacts but it won't get into the tiny, deep openings of Julet & Higo connectors.

A physical metal tool rubbing against the metal of the contact is abrasive to some degree or other. Not saying it's taking a large amount of metal off, but it is abrasion by definition (the word means rubbing with friction).

I bet you never thought of sex as abrasion, have you? o_O Gentle abrasion is usually preferred... :p

I heard that one theory of pubes is that they act as a lubricant to both the male and female connectors interface. I don't know how this theory helps explain beards.

Why is that? This stuff sounds pretty good. Is it a matter of getting it in the little holes and getting it back out? I assume you don't want it drying in the holes along with whatever oxidation it loosened up. Could you just blow it out with a can of compressed air?

TT

I've never tried Deoxit but have had no luck with other spray contact cleaners. BW-100, WD40 Specialist & CRC to name a few. Not sure why, but those holes are so tiny, it's tough to get anything in there that isn't rigid.

If you look closely at the nozzle cleaners I linked, the tip is smooth. The filing or rough part never enters the connector. The surface of the smooth tip seems to be enough to remove any oxidation. Care must be taken not to force in a tip larger than the opening or over do it. Yeah, I'm sure that will prompt a few more jokes.

I wondered what she saw in him.

Aliens use a larger version
On Halloween I heard a radio show of scary stories that are all true. For example a woman being chased down and viscously attacked by a large racoon with rabies. Her husband and son had to hit it fifteen time with an axe and baseball bat before it would let up on the attack. The other was of a haunted house, with strange noises, vivid invisible people talking, apparitions, music coming from nowhere, and invisible people touching. But no alien obductions. It was published in a medical journal in something like 1923. It turns out that it was a Victorian gas lit mansion. The owners and servants were subject to carbon monoxide poisoning. The 'haunt' vanished as soon as they converted to electricity.

Not cheap at $60 but there are less expensive models,..

That's almost $150 here in Canada,..
Too rich for my blood.

It's a piece of junk!!
You actually need a second person to hold the other arms still while you adjust one of the arms and the plastic clamp covers keep falling off.😂

The table clamp bends and opens up when you tighten it up and it pops off the edge of the table.

I'm just going to use the two arms I have and hold the solder in my mouth like how I've been doing it since 1980.😂

If the tool to help me solder wires into my controller costs twice as much as the controller I'm soldering, then I figure it ain't worth it.

That is pretty cool though, and I can pretty much tell by looking at it that it works way better than my piece of crap.

My third hand tool dislodged from the edge of the table and took the circuit board with it. 😂

I have a simple vise. It's very handy.
I once used it to torture a rat I put It's head in the vise.
