Otters like Bicycles????

As a homeless person who moves from camp to camp I was rudely wakened by security at Laguna Seca in Monterey CA and was told that sea otters are coming. Boy did they come. A virtual sea of bike vendors and 4 days of bike events including downhill, jumping, cyclocross, and local touring. I packed up my pots and pans and bedroll and proceeded to spend two days talking to other bikers and tons of vendors. Lots of interesting bits and bobs..........

Michael DeVisser was there with a full complement of OHM bikes, and so to were Accell Group e-bikes such as Hai and all the currie tech stuff.

Perhaps the most interesting vendor was from Vancouver. A company called VeloFix that puts primo service trucks on the road with well-experienced techs to render mobile repair service to home or business. Check out www.velofix.com. My understanding is that they are looking for franchisees....

As many of you know, I believe the e-bike growth curve is corporate direct and not retail. Probably not a big leap of faith to understand why small startups like Google, Apple, and others would love a service like this.

I should have taken photos to share...sorry!

Aahh, wish I could've been there; heard there were a lot of great events beyond just the races and demos. Did you get a chance to ride one of Michael's new OHM bikes? Apparently, the 2015's are just starting to ship and the frames look amazing.

I did. Very nice bikes. Geometry is a little to sit up for my taste and the flat bar seems short. The rest of the bike is wonderful. D500 is very smooth
