Interceptor-Spare Battery mount?

If one wanted to pack a second battery instead of taking a charger along for the ride has anyone seen a good method? I assume the logical spot is to piggy back it on top of the rear rack but how to secure/conceal it? Narrow tail bag that could bungy or strap to the metal rack? Right now my wife has the lovely olive green cordura Pedego pannier system but it only has a tan handle on the center in between the panniers which might not make for a stable platform.

Someone must have done this before......

You can put the spare battery inside of a pannier.

However you carry your battery, make sure it is secure and well-padded. If the bike tips over or you get in a wreck, if the battery is damaged it may catch fire or explode (!). Remember that a 700wh battery is storing roughly the same amount of energy as a stick of dynamite.

Oh yeah, when a li-ion pack goes it can be quite exciting.

These yahoos bypassed, or didn't install, any features that prevent this kind of thing.
