I got bite on todays ride......

My Wart Hog bite me today, half way thru the Mornings ride 1st time ever,
I guess I had better get a muzzle for it now, NO blood drawn.

But I came close to plowing thru a 4 strand Barded Wire fence,
because a Damn local 18 Wheeler truck, was attempting to pass me
on a very narrow 2 lane road, with on coming traffic, and couldn't wait for 10 seconds.

I was watching the left mirror and seen him start to creep pass,
and I moved over to the far right and my right pants leg was grabbed,
by the peddle drive sprocket teeth, which locked up my peddling etc.
I went off the road edge and into a ditch and got stopped, about 2' from the fence.

So the end result is I have to get a muzzle for it, here is the info I measured from it,
I have a 44 T sprocket and will need about a 8" diameter chain guard,
there is 5 hole/screws with approximately a 3" CTC distance between the screw holes.

Anyone care to help me get the proper chain guard for the Wart Hog?
I am NOT very GOOD at this metric stuff, yet,

Maybe just a chainring guard would work. You might be able to get something like this instead of a full length chain guard:

As suggested a simple ring guard and proper pant leg will go a long way in preventing this.
For the chain ring you'll need exact CTC measurements in millimeters as they can look very similar.
An inexpensive caliper is a must tool when working with a bike. The linked one has served me well for years and can be gotten on sale for about $12 which it is often.

When you say CTC measurements are you talking about the bolt holes,
or something else?

As an example if the measurement is 76.2mm,
will all the chain ring covers be the same if they are 5 hole (same as mine),
and do I get one for a 44T or slightly larger 46/48T?

As for the best material, Alum over Plastic?

This eBay seller is a good example of what is available and how to measure... Though you may want to look for something local.
Buy for your 44t, not larger.
Plastic seems to be strong enough for most applications.. But only you will know what abuse it may encounter.
