Hydra gen 2 vs Frey Beast

No I have the Z1 version for a few years now but if I was looking today I would go with the X2 probably. They also have their Ludicrous version which amps up the power that for sure would help top end speed I suppose? With the right gearing you could probably get it to go that fast as Luna's bikes are all unrestricted but not sure why you are looking at bicycles for that type of speed.
Ok and you are pleased whit the bike?
I use my current bike for both commute and fun in the Forrest.
Why i want a new is because the fun in Forrest part, but i use the top speed for my commute allot. (Night Shift, empty roads)
And my current bike is like falling apart, its old and tiret..😄

The way I see it anymore bikes are just frames made in China with components made in China and it depends on after sale support as to how good an experience you have? If you are able to perform basic maintainence and upkeep you can keep about any bicycle going for quite awhile. Over the years I have built up more bikes from the frame up than I have bought off the floor complete and have no problem making substitutions in components along the way. I started out with eBikes in the same way years ago buying components and fitting them to bikes I already owned but when I decided to go to an eBike that was specifically designed as such I saw that the carbon fiber DengFu frames had the attributes I was looking for. Here in the US LUNA had the rights to the frames reserved so I in order to get one I had to buy a complete bike from them. When I got mine they were $3400 USD with free shipping which made them a pretty good deal. Since then I have modified and upgraded several things over stock format to suit my preferences such as new wheelset with a 29" front wheel, larger brake rotors, electronic shifting and a 52v system with a 21700 cell battery as well as the aforementioned grease job. The ability to obtain parts for the Bafang motor somewhat easily if needed as well as the open architecture of the battery so that I was able to source in 52v as well as the UART motor that allows for individual programming preferences allows me to maintain the electronics myself which is important also as I live in a remote area far from any bike shops.

I mainly ride in the forest as much as possible on trails and logging roads but the bike does well on paved roads too. The unrestricted feature helps more there than in the forest. S0 long story short I am pleased with the Luna purchase I made a few years ago and would buy from them again but as I indicated I would probably get the X version to save on some weight and drive train wear. As well as a full 29" wheel setup.

Hi! Im window shopping😄
Any thoughts on Hydra gen 2 vs Frey best?
Pros an cons?
Do anyone know the top speed of both using only the throttle?
And a Newbie question, are the pedals moving when you use the throttle on a "mid engine" e bike? Ore can the chain move seperate from the pedals if you know what i mean..
Hi Limmet, so far as I known, FREY Beast is the most powerful eMTB available with Bafang M620 system, with 60V voltage and max speed is 60km/h. they have warehouse in US.
