I disagree with the that.
Light e-mtbs should be below 40 pounds like the Specialized Levo SL and Trek e-caliber.
I like them light , so i agree with that 40lb /18.14kg limit
But that would be the Super LIGHT <40lb. We have weight classes , u know like in boxing...
3 more for the catalog :
- BH Ilynx (540wh, 720wh with magnetic bottle battery , 16.8kg =37.03lbs, starts at 6000€
-Forestal SIRYON ( NEW company and a very exciting emtb. , 17.4kg=38.36lbs, 350wh battery, in house motor collaboration with Bafang) , 9000€
- Rotwild Re/Rx 375 ( 375wh battery, EP8,
18.2kg=40.12lbs or 40lbs 1.6oz , starts at 7000€ ) ; Can change the front tire to make it under 40lbs
Hard to choose, all this 3 are great. Same for Orbea Rise, Specialized Levo , although the price is not justified for Levo. Trek ecaliber....qualifies as a super light emtb. but the important specs are vastly inferior to any of those 5. Plus the design of removing the battery is a major No-No.
Pic 2 is the BH Magnetic bottle battery holder which is a very clever design , NO cables !
TORQUE :
Orbea: 60nm limited( Shimano ep8 RS)
BH: 65nm( Bh 2Es mag)
Specialized: 35nm (Sl 1.1)
Rotwild: 85nm(Shimano Ep8)
Trek : 55nm(Fazua)
Forestal: 60nm( EonDrive collab. With Bafang)
Shimano Ep8 rocks, outperforms Sl 1.1, Fazua, Bh , Ep8 RS. Not a good option for Orbea to limit it's power from 85nm to 60nm, that's almost 30% less torque....no good.
If u want high torque , medium size battery and win the KOM , Rotwild re/rx 375 is the winner.
Less torque but a BIG battery, Bh Ilynx wins .
To show off, but with tiny torque , Ecaliber is the clear winner, Levo Sl 2nd place.
