Commuter & trail bike class 3

I’m looking for a year round commuter that is also capable of off road mtb trails in the area (southeast Wisconsin). Class 3 is a must and bonus points for a fully integrated downtube battery. Budget is 3-5k, would want the higher end of that range to have something like a belt drive or Rohloff.

You wont find a Rohloff equipped bike at that price point. Rohloff with E14 and belt drive alone is close to $2,000 parts only, no bicycle. To get everything on your wish list you will have to double your budget or get really lucky in the used bike market.

FLX is offering the Blade 2.0 for $5K. Class 3, integrated battery, belt drive with Rohloff. Pretty much everything the OP is looking for. Who knows how well it will perform for both commuting and trail riding. Geometry is on the aggressive side.

While the FLX is a lot of bike for the money. To be considered a viable regular commuter, adding fenders, rack and proper lighting would have to feasible.

That is looking pretty nice! Rack, fenders and lights with the touring package. That made the top of the list so far, thanks!
