Jeremy: Glad to hear your setup went smooth! Please pay no attention to the app: it is as stupid as Garmin Connect

Unfortunately, Wahoo Sports resigned from the lovely older ELEMNT Companion app, which was simple and focused on the device. Moving to the Wahoo app was one of the steps of the process I call "garminizing the Wahoo ELEMNT"
If you want to spend your time on the Athlete Profile

please run the wizard again but give your estimated FTP yourself. FTP is the leg power you think you can maintain for an hour. You will see how the Zones shift! The stupid App does not know you are riding an e-bike and it estimates your FTP a way higher than it really is!
Have you secured your ACE with the tether around the handlebar yet? Please do. Same is done with Garmin. In a little probable case of a crash, you wouldn't like to see your ACE flying
Regarding the device:
Have you connected your Vado SL yet?
- Be on the device, be sure you are in configuration page (a brief click on the On button), swipe to My Sensors, detect your e-bike (Vado SL must be on, obviously).
Screen settings
- I know you prefer the Dark Mode because you are used to that mode on your smartphone. Please try the Light theme with Auto MAX backlight. You would be surprised to see how low the device's battery consumption would still be!
Data screen configuration
Surprised at how sparse the device settings are given its complexity.
It is because almost all the settings have been done in the App since the beginning of Wahoo ELEMNT computers
Only recently, Garmin did the same...
- If not done yet, please have the device on and connected to the App. Then go to Devices in the app - the bottom rightmost icon - (wait until the Device appears and gets connected) then go to your default Workout Profile (I renamed mine to E-Bike Ride), Go to Workout Pages.
- At best, select Workout data, Map and Summit (other data pages are really unnecessary)
- Workout Data allow selecting up to 11 data fields from the most to the least important. Here's my own choice:
- Current Speed (vs workout avg)
- Distance (workout)
- Active time (workout)
- Distance remaining (route)
- Time of Day
- Avg Speed (workout)
- Temperature
- Cadence
- Avg Power (3 s)
- LEV Travel Mode
- LEV Battery
The contents of the Workout Data screen changes as you are configuring the device on the smartphone. That would be the choice of mine:
Now, keep clicking the top right side button: with each button press, the contents of the screen is reduced but the font becomes bigger. What you get after several clicks is:
Of course, the action is reversible (bottom right side button). Tap anywhere on the screen to sound the Bike Bell!
The Map data screen can be configured, too. The data fields will only appear when:
- You have Started the ride
- (optional: you had selected a Route)
Here's my configuration:
Here, you can sound the Bike Bell only in the low part of the Map data screen.
You can authorize your RideWithGPS to:
- Synchronize your planned routes with ACE (it works if you have a WiFi connection and/or when the App and RWGPS are on the same phone and the Bluetooth is on)
- Upload your completed rides to RWGPS
You do it in the App under Account (Top left corner) -> Authorized Apps
The planned routes are under Plan in the App.
Your completed rides are under History.
It was all a way simpler with the older devices and app...

(Perhaps you knew it all but I could not help myself to write all this)
