Bosch selling kit w/ gears to fix the Performance CX

I was informed you are incorrect. Trek rep informs me the 2 years is from when the replacement motor is installed.
Also, 2nd motor had issues, Trek replace entire bike.
Best experience, the way it should be.
I was almost ready to go to a Specialized Turbo Vado (Brose motor), but heard so many negative issues, glad I stuck it out with Bosch/Trek.
They have gained my confidence.

I also am somewhat disturbed by the issues Turbo Vado had with the motor it is very likely that the version they use has a design issue. However it seems they are also prompt at replacing the motor. Although I don't know if Brose fixed it for the next generation models.

On the other hand your experience shows that Bosch is far from being trouble free as some of the folks trying to make it out to be.

If that 2 year warranty resets once your motor is replaced as you say then it is a very good policy on Bosch's part. I also like the fact that they are providing the repair kit.

I had always thought Bosch was the most reliable system. After reading this thread, now I am not sure.

I have read that the Brose system is not overly reliable. I have bumped into several specialized como owners, all who have said the motor failed at some point under warranty.

That leaves Yamaha and Shimano as the other contenders.

Which manufacturer do you guys think makes the most reliable mid-drive?

I'm anticipating the new motors and batteries will be game changers. We'll have to wait it out another few weeks before the bike show in Europe that exhibits all the new stuff. This year’s Eurobike show, taking place from 4 to 7 September. I'd suspect it is then that products will be released/announced, reviews done, and we spend our money.

There's also TQ, which reportedly will be in some of the upcoming 2020 Haibikes. The M1's (German brand) have been using the TQ and riders have been impressed. No idea on reliability.

I have Bosch motor #0.275.007.384 would this service kit work ok? The last three numbers do not match any on the list supplied.

Does your motor have a back pedal brake?

Not sure what you mean. You mean so it can't pedal backwards, or a bracket to support pedal crank? It is mounted on a 2018 Trek PowerFly 8

I mean if you back pedal it applies braking to the rear wheel. I'm guessing not if you have a PowerFly. I will be honest, I have seen a lot of motors but not one with 3 numbers in the last three digits. It is always 037 or 063 etc. The easiest thing to do would be take a look or let us take a look.

Yes, after the three digit number at the end are the letters KMG. It is a performance cx motor. Not sure where you are located, I am in Central NY. It also appears that the service kits are not available to the public? Only bike shops and specialists can order parts from what I gather.

Performance Line Bearings are situated in the UK but ship world wide. However, these service kits are currently on back order with Bosch and have been since January 2020, the last update was that we could get some by March 31st 2020? You can still order from our site and we will just ship as soon as they arrive.
Alternately, we have all the bearings in stock, just find which bearings you need and change them.
