I told Paolo the developer of the app I would let Vado owners know that his app works with TCD-W display. Overall, impression, amazing app! With more stats then I'd ever imagined. Doesn't work with BLOKS.

Stats for today morning ride to lbs. Settings Eco 20/20. I didn't use trail or turbo at all. I love how this app talks to you and lets you know what your doing. Amazing app! Average almost 16 mph in ECo/no assist. Not to shabby for 55 carrying about 30Pds of gear. Started at 100% ended at 92%.

I envy you having the strength and health to be able to pedal without the motor assistance; and am jealous you have got the TCD-W and can use the BLEvo. Regarding the TCD-W, I'm waiting for more normal times to possibly replace the display. The situation is too weird now.

Thanks. I was an avid runner until I turned 50. Now the knees have declined so I took up e-biking. I don't get the same adrenaline high as running but I do love the feeling of riding and getting a workout on the Vado. I hope you get the upgrade just to experience this app. I don't know why mission control is so stat deficient. Every day I ride is a blessing. I'm grateful to be able.

I am 59 and have suffered from arteriosclerosis (in the sense of inadequate blood supply below my knee) since 2015 . E-bikes saved my life, I could say. However, I use far more support than you; at least my knees are healthy.

I see $9 over here.
That's correct. One time buy $9. The developer is great about responding to questions. Initially, purchased for the original BLOK that came with my 2019 Turbo Vado 5.0. It didn't work so he refunded me. I purchased it again with the new TCD-w display upgrade. Love the app! Also, the voice feature keeps you alert to what your doing. It's loud easily heard. It can also be disabled if you don't want it. I prefer having it on. In addition, you can set your motor assist in 1% increments instead of 5. It works with another app Strava but I never use. Also, has heart rate feature like Mission Control.

More stats Eco/no assist. Ave speed. 15mph. 100% started 84% finished. Just shy of 15 miles. There is a screen that shows real time stats as you ride but I keep my phone in my pocket.

Same day. Average speed 20Mph. I used Turbo 80% of the time. Distance a little over 12 miles. Battery dropped from 83% to 50%. A little more windy today coming back. I kind of let it air out in Turbo to see average speed and battery consumption. Mission Control does the same.

Hi All, Good to hear from some Vado riders, I was asking about connecting to the Blevo app, Paolo says the speed unlock would not work but he wasn't sure what bits will. Here in the UK my Vado 3 built 2017 which had the blocks screen changed to TCD-w at no charge! I love to know how my bike differs from the 28 mph ones. We are limited to 250 watt motors and I think other countries have 350 watt. That must be fun! I love the Vado but can't see many forums talking about them, ie up grade equipment etc. I think Kam 1936 bike looks great without the suspension forks! I'm sure your faster bikes must have big chain rings?

Our US Vado 5's have 48t front chain rings. They'll get the bikes into the low 30mph range before they spin out, but then my max cadence isn't what it used to be.

Great looking bike. Greetings to UK. Man why did Tyson Fury have to put hands or Wilder like that. 😄. Thanks. I have 2019 Vado 5.0 42T. 2020 Vado 5.0 have 48T. I'm a laymen to ebikes. I'm still learning my way around them. I love the Vado. I like to ride for range over speed. 15mph is good for me. First time today I let it air out 80% assist Turbo 80% of the ride headed back. This bike easily gets up to 28mph with moderate effort. I never felt out of control or uncomfortable. It takes the hills here no problem.
I read a thread about some people using Planet (something can't remember) to by pass their speed limits. 28mph is fast enough for me. I prefer range over speed. I noticed today averaging 5 more mph really deletes the battery. Fell 33% in 12 mile ride. Whereas at average speed of 15 mph battery lost only 16% in 14.5 plus miles. I intend to do more experimenting to maximize my range with speed utilizing BLevo app.

@Highgate hill,

I own the 2017 Vado 5.0 (28 mph version with rigid fork) bought in 2019 as New Old Stock. It has the 48t chain-ring and accessories required by the EU for an S-Pedelec. It has a registration plate, insurance (and you would have to wear the motorcycle helmet in the UK); it also requires MOT after 3 years.

The name of the de-restrictor is Planet 3 and the inventor is from Croatia.

My experience with the 45 km/h version is same as Kam describes it. The battery gets depleted very soon on faster rides; the range is about 28 mi in the Sport mode, very short in the Turbo mode. That is why I'm riding with a spare battery.

And it is not that the motors are 350 W. No, the motors are 250 W nominal but these are capable to deliver higher peak power.

I will learn in 2.5 years :) Probably nobody knows. How can people familiar with ICE vehicles inspect an e-bike? I will do the MOT on the principle.
  1. I might have been the first person to register an S-Pedelec in Poland; the respective Office actually didn't know how you do it
  2. I might have been the first person to insure an S-Pedelec in Poland; the agent had to call their headquarters to ask what to do
  3. So I will be the first person in Poland to do the MOT 🤣
Just imagine my joy when I rode the main street in Pruszków, was warned by the City Guard to use the bike lane then the guys discovered themselves what fools they had been :D (I must tell you that riding through Pruszków by the main road takes just several minutes while riding via bike lanes might take as many as 20 minutes or more).
