I would NOT recommend this as a solution.
The description states to install this BMS all batteries must be matched by voltage and internal resistance which if you have a bad cell or group you definitely do not meet the requirements

LOL didn't read that part!

I'll wait to see that the manufacturer has to say. But I see myself opening this thing and testing. Maybe it's a cold solder spot or loose wire.
 
I made some of videos of it failing. Sorry for the quality of my modest 2 year old Motorola G5 Plus.

I reset the Trip meter today, so that's all I've gotten out of it. If I ride it really slowly at PAS 1 I can do straights, but forget about throttle. It's now showing a Range left of 10 Km, which maybe I can do. I'll try to fully drain it tomorrow. The pack shows 3 out of 3 full green bars on the little push LED indicator.

It failed right before the highest point in the map, after the little dip.

Yes I have!

After opening the battery I discovered one of the series was reading 38v. So I took an old phone charger that matched the voltage I needed. And it took about 24 hours to bring it to a working voltage. Since the battery is so big I've had difficulties discharging (rain/work) it so I can do a full charge cycle!

The seller CHAMRIDER is sending a whole new battery.

Now the issue with the 60% charging on the display is because the seller on aliexpress put a 52v controller on my 48v casing. Can you believe that?!

I live in venezuela so returning things is very expensive by dhl. So... I'm screwed on that end.

I'm not familiar with that seller but that is the risk of Aliexpress.
Well since it is there mistake maybe you can ask Aliexpress, not the seller for a partial refund.
Is your dispute window closed?
Also is there any type of warranty described by the seller on this item?
And if you paid by credit card, here we can dispute charges for items that are not as described, defective or incorrect with the credit card company by calling the number on the card. This is a service of Mastercard, Visa etc..
I'd also suggest with this type of product that there are sellers on Aliexpress that service in the USA. That may be a cheaper alternative going forward for service

I agree with everything you said.

Importing to my country takes an extra 2 weeks. So the dispute window is long closed.

I'm not unhappy with seller at all! In fact if you want cheap batteries and don't mind an unexpected surprise. They offered to send me me a new battery, I just have to pay shipping. After the dispute window closed.

I would have love to buy one in the US, the quality control is exceptional I'm sure. But it's an extra $200 on top of an already expensive battery ($600). Since this was my first project I didn't want to break the bank. Next time I will try to buy parts from luna cycles. At least I know I will get matching batteries and motor.

The motor works fine at 48v. Too bad a full charge only shows 67%, and it half's the amps when it hits zero. But I'll just consider that my reserve.

I'm getting very good range at PAS 9. I've done four 15Km rides and it still has juice in it.
 
This is the seller that I used Greenergy and they were pretty good. They ship and service out of USA... I don't know if that is an option for you.
Over Luna I think I would go with EM3EV or California eBike if I didn't want to use Aliexpress... But again you'd have to see what is workable to Venezuela.

I bought the motor from Greenergy but from their aliexpress store. They screwed up the motor controller! LOL.

Mine was on Aliexpress in China as well... They just have an option to ship from USA or China for USA customers.
Good to know that they screwed up your controller (for me)... I'll be more cautious.
Are they going to send you the correct controller?
I had the Bafang Bottom Bracket wrench missing from my order and they sent it right out express shipping without question. That was the only issue I had and have since used them for accessories.
I was quick to set up everything on the bench and test it before the dispute time ended. I got it on the bike quickly as well. A necessary part of doing business with China. Also never check item as received until its been tested.
Is the credit card dispute an option for you?
 
On the older BBS motors, the operatiing battery voltage could be set by the user, using a Windows PC and programming cable. Some ebike forums report that Bafang was moving away from the 52V option and had changed the firmware to lock it in at 48V.

This situation sounds like it could happen with older motors, but not with newer ones.

So they are sending you a 52V battery?

The 07 overvolt error from controllers that 48V nominal limited should be out of the supply chain, but there are still 48V versions being sold. Bafang has never given a dealer anyway to link firmware versions to serial numbers, so we rely on experience and previous support issues to assist customers.

    52 volt firmware from Bafang limits current to 28 amps down from 30 amps and this is a special request for Bafang to load this firmware to not throw the error 7 code with 52 volt batteries, it negates any supposed 8% performance increase. They do not want 52 volt batteries. They do not ship a 52 volt labeled motor. 28 amps X 58.8 volts = 1646 watts, 30 amps X 54.6 volts = 1638 watts. So whats the point/advantage? 52 volt is hype imo. You have to use an old version of firmware to get 30 amps at 58.8 volts. I am not saying 52 volts is bad, just over rated. You need a much larger voltage increase to really make a difference.
 
I don't think a 52v battery is being offered by the seller nor is it an option for Carlos
He has multiple issues.
He purchased the motor and battery from two different sellers...both of which should have been 48v.
The 48v battery seems to have a bad group of cells so it cuts out prematurely.
The 48v motor was shipped with a 52v controller, though working his display shows incorrect information.
If he's lucky the motor seller will send him the correct controller and the battery seller will offer him a solution to repair /replace the battery.
I believe he's made progress on getting the battery replaced.
