Anyone building an Ultra motor in a cruiser frame?
I’m thinking this would make a good commuter if dialed down to 750watts.
With an off the shelf frame there would definitely need to be some customization.
(Remove the BB and weld in the ultra bracket.)
The ultra bracket is (iirc) aluminum, most cruisers are steel; so that’s one problem, yes?
The cruisers typically dont have rear disc, so caliper tabs would need to be welded on.
Up front I’m thinking a suspension fork could be used.
Thoughts?
I really liked the torque sensing performance of the Bafang Max, but also would like a throttle.
The ultra seems to be ideal.
I’ve been considering getting a Biktrix FS Ultra (and I don’t really need fat tires), but then I got to thinking about adding a BBSHD to a cruiser as a simpler/cheaper route, but would like to get torque sensing also.
