2016 Currie iZip catalog

No folks, this has nothing to do with the CA legal stuff. Currie Tech has always had different styles of ebikes; some with throttles, some without. And now, for some of their pedelecs they added the button throttle. BionX has used something like this for years and its works just fine. If you have multiple levels of pedal assist then you don't really need a throttle; however, some folks like it. The traditional twist throttle is not easy on the wrist if you are holding it all the time and generally had a simplistic battery gauge that's really not needed with the standard consoles that most ebikes use now. The Zuma and Metro models have both pedal assist and 'tag' twist and go, throttle.

Umm, no: iZips all had a throttle. They didn't add a button throttle, they replaced a throttle with a button. A "boost button" sounds like something that gives a temporary boost of max power instead of regulating the power like a throttle does and it might be still allowed even under a legal throttle ban.
