52v is certainly better that 48v, even 60v or 72v as they go; coupled with a higher ah i.e. battery and relavent controller. The more watt hours, the farther (range) you can go and fast too.

Does anyone know or has any resources to find out what the three (3) extra outlets (relays) located in the seat tube of the MD1000 and siblings can be used for? What accessories can be plugged in to them?

I once came across some information which suggested that dealers (maybe some more than others) have access to special programming from Bafang which can unlock and tune these motors specially. I don't know what it takes, but the same way they are locked, they can be unlocked.

The new MD1000's come with a CAN-BUS controller and this is supported by a cable which is connected with triangular shaped ends. There is a speed limitation which fortunately is 60kmh or just a hair over 37mph. Unfortunately, the speed settings cannot be accessed and is set to tire =29 and max...

It probably is just faulty. I saw some Youtube videos which suggest that might be the problem. Might have to replace. Just the luck of the draw unfortunately. I hope you get it resolved soon and post.

Have you checked in the display to see if you have any error codes, and then you can go from there.

Anyone considering an upgrade to a belt drive? Kindernay is manufacturing the Kindernay VII, a 7 speed version of the Kindernay XIV; same build specs but with a single shifter instead of the two. No pricing yet. Sounds interesting.

Update Terry, I was assured that the bike will be ok because they took it back from the shippers to update the BMS. Meanwhile, they are contacting past customers about the issue.
