Anybody tried Clik tire valves?

I got my Clik valves and after a glitch have them installed and working well. First, the glitch:
I got two valves and the pump head replacement with the adapter that can be used independently. I tested one valve out on my tubeless tire and it leaked at the pump head connection. I pumped the tire up but watched the pressure drop on my pump gauge when I stopped pumping. I removed and reinstalled the Clik, fiddled with the pump and pump head but still had a leak. I emailed Clik describing the problem and they replied within hours saying they were sending me two new valves, a new pump head adapter and some aluminum valve caps. A++ for customer support!

The new ones came today and I put them in and it works perfectly! I’m using the head adapter in my standard presta/schrader pump head - push it in, flip the lever up and use it that way. That makes it easy to use my pump on other presta or schrader valves - just flip the lever down and pull the Clik adapter out.

I’ll try the first batch of parts again when I get a chance but I think it may have been my error. The Clik valves thread into the presta body but then need a full revolution or so using the supplied tool after finger tightening. I’ve learned the hard way not to cinch presta cores in too much so I may have not put the cliks in tight enough.

My biggest irritation with presta has been connecting the pump cleanly so the tire doesn’t lose a bunch of air, either when I put it on or when I take it off. It’s always a pretty iffy process for me. First world problem.

The Clik adapter snaps right on without losing any air. And it unsnaps without losing any either. Seems like a winner!

The next time I replace tires I might try muc off big bore valves. Those look like they solve other tubeless issues: 250% more flow for seating tires, no clogging and no leakage at the pump head. Until then I’ll use the cliks.
Awesome to hear about the customer support, and glad you have it sorted out!
Interesting to hear about clogging issues. Can't say I've had any on Presta or Clik... yet...

Nice looking pump!
Mine's just an inexpensive Bontrager, but works with or without a Clik adapter. Do you have multiple bikes to work on?
We have three bikes with presta - my aethos, addict e-ride, and daughter’s sirrus. The first two tubeless, the latter tubed. Have a front hub commuter with schrader, and my younger daughter has a little cleary with schrader also. And an electric scooter with schrader.

however, 95% of my tire airing actives are the two road bikes with presta.

Hmmm... Seems like a possible opportunity...

I just bought one of those. Works fine on presta valves. I found a little pill bottle that fits more-or-less perfectly inside the pump and I carry spare valve cores, valve caps, and a presta-to-shrader converter there.

The 40cc version is adequate for 650b by 46mm tires. But probably not for much larger tires.

This may be an ignorant question, but do they make tubes with these clik valves? They sound interesting. One concern I have with my Fättie is that if I ever decide to ride low-pressure (I haven’t in 2100mi) I might have slippage problems with the tube, which has an unanchored Schrader valve. For next winter, I’m pretty sure I want to have that option — to drop pressure that is.

The tires/tubes have been wonderfully resistant to punctures or any issues at all for that matter. I’ve been delighted with them. The only problem I have is that the bead on the CST tires is so stiff that I can’t find a good way to get the tires on/off. I’ve been meaning to go to the LBS (well, not so “L”) to get some advice/assistance.

I'd watch Schwalbe's web site. Where last I read clik valve tubes were "coming soon".

My own feeling is the really huge win with Clik valves is for tubeless and since most Clik pumpheads will still inflate Presta valves you can get buy with a Presta valve tube to limp home when your tubeless system totally fails.

I'd argue that most e-bike users outside of bikeshare and rental fleets would be better off and happier with a tubeless system. Largely because most e-bike riders can't even remove their wheels to fix a flat. Of course, tubeless requires a certain amount of fussy maintenance and sometimes messy work so a lot of people wouldn't be up for it from the beginning. I can even imagine the posts here about how tubeless "doesn't work" because the sealant dries out after four months -- well, duh, that's why you need to do maintenance...

There are Clik adapters for Schrader, and also Presta tubes with removable cores, so you can get there. Haven't seen straight up tubes with Clik yet, as @Mr. Coffee alludes...

This is my own opinion. I think there is zero justification for running with tubes (outside of an emergency when you ripped your tire and are limping home) on low-pressure high-volume tires. So generally on any tire of three inches or larger tubes make zero sense.

Fair enough. My bike did come that way, and I’ve been satisfied with having no flats or issues at all (other than weight, of course). But, I’ve not lowered pressure (yet), nor have I run studded tires, which I’m considering for next winter.

Good info. I've been considering the presta version with the multi tool that slips inside.
