Geeking out future owner here (Black XP ordered 4 - 6). Noticed the chainset on the xp is higher off the ground than the one on the step-thru. I've never seen this mentioned. Would someone with both measure the distance and enter them in a comment? This also means the center of gravity on the xp is higher. Discuss.

Oh, please, good people of EBR Forums, Lectric Cellblock, 402 views and no one has found one of each to measure their ground clearance?

Inches or centimeters could be fine

numbers of of quarters?

I get that the subject isn't quite interesting enough to break cover over.

video comparing the 2
Thanks for posting this link. Jeremiah does a nice job comparing the two. Prior to watching, I ordered a step-thru for myself, but I'm still having a few reservations vs. the step over.

I recently had a mishap flying over the handlebars of another bike (step-over) and prefer not to repeat the same stunt if I need to stop short again. I felt a little safer ordering the step-thru this time given the lower center of gravity (stepping over the bar is not much of an issue but admittedly the step-thru style also looks more comfortable and convenient). Since I live in a rural area and ride frequently on unpaved roads and paths, I began to wonder though if pedal clearance is an issue for some folks on the step-thru version. I'm 5'11, 170lbs. but rightly or wrongly, that didn't factor into my decision, since Lectric claims a good fit for my height and weight. Any thoughts about the two bikes from a safety perspective?

We have 2 step thrus. My wife is 5'5 and has no mount/dismount or safety issues so far. I'm 6'3 , seat post and handlebars at full height as well as a higher rise handlebar I installed to allow a more upright riding position. I am glad I purchased the step thru for that quick stop/dismount/safety factor . Hope you enjoy it.
