What is a good mid drive ebike Canada

Hi,

I'm looking at purchasing a mid drive ebike, specifically I want min 500 watts, mid drive, long capacity and preferer class 3 because I love speed :) so far I've been attracted to mountain bike / city bike.

The other thing, I must be able to purchase it in Canada. Any help and ideas are welcome.

Thanks

Also OHM - online sales only but are from Vancouver. But at the same time, as much as buying Canadian is important to me, most bikes are actually manufactured offshore, so where the corporate headquarters isn't always as important.

Find a good local bike shop and try out what they have. I personally am still riding my 2011 Bionx equipped Electra. Bionx is now gone with very little support, so my next purchase will likely be a bike from one of the big 3. Right now, unfortunately, it's pretty hard to find any stock of what I want, but in the meantime by Townie is OK.

Good hunting...

I believe Biktrix is also online-only. There is no store to try, no dealers. Canadian company, bikes assembled in Canada - from Chinese parts of course.

Canada has a lot of Bike Manufacturers; relatively speaking. Especially in the GVRD, but there is one in Calgary, I remember as well, and these ones people are mentioning in the East. US seems to be California centric; but these are just my impressions.

GVRD has several ebike "sellers" - stores selling Chinese imports that nobody ever heard about. On the flip side they offer servicing of heir products - though labor rates are not cheap. After a year or two you don't see previously available companies in a particular store anymore, and there are some different imports on the floor. Maybe they just buy wholesale from one Chinese factory, then from another and so on, whatever they see the most profit in.

There are also stores in GVRD selling well established US and European brands.

Off the top of my head, I can't recall any ebike "manufacturers" in GVRD, other than Voltbike - though it's a question whether it can be called a manufacturer, since they only design bikes and then place an order at Chinese factory that they don't own, if I'm not mistaken. Biktrix is one of the few that actually assemble bikes at the facility they own - in Canada.

I'm not sure about the rest of Canada, but we have a bike shop on Vancouver Island that sells Biktrix ebikes, so I'm sure there must be other individual Biktrix dealers.

I stand corrected. They do list total 4 stores in Canada. None in big cities.
