Vado Derestriction

I agree with CHRIS and Stefan Mikes - Peartune works great. I installed this in 2023 on my Vado 5.0 IGH, and posted information about it here: https://forums.electricbikereview.c...or-peartune-4-0-mso-on-2022-turbo-vado.51792/. There are other threads on this forum about Peartune on Vado/Brose as well, so I'm surprised OP wasn't able to locate this information.

I've had zero issues with the radar using Peartune as well.

I would only go with Peartune.

I have the MSO 3.0 for SL 1.1 installed on my 25 km/h 2021 Vado SL (Poland). There is a version to derestrict On Demand, and also a version that is Always On (for SL e-bikes without the Walk Mode button, for instance, the Creo 1). My version derestricts the e-bike on pushing the Walk Mode button once.

Having said the above, let me say I do not always derestrict my Vado SL. For instance, I often organize small group rides under the motto: "No snails*, no horses**, max 25 km/h" :) Having the e-bike restricted increases the battery range tremendously! However, I join faster group rides too. Without the derestrictor I could not follow faster riders!

MSO 3.0 is not a bug free chip. It often produces "Motor Error" messages when on. I can live with that.
-------------------
*) Snail = A weak traditional cyclist, max speed 18 km/h, average up to 15 km/h
**) Horse = a performing cyclist, average speed at least 30 km/h on asphalt.

Why do you recommend Peartune over Speedbox, in particular with the bug that you mention?

I have a Speedbox 3.0 with the bluetooth app and I cannot fault it. I can activate from the bike controller or via the app, and set whatever speed limit I require from the bike or cia the app.

Admittedly I have never used a Peartune but the bug you describe sounds like it makes it an easy choice to choose the Speedbox over it surely.

Use whatever you like. It is illegal anyway :)
