The comments about median death age are another example of inane blather. Details are often hidden in statistics and stats are often manipulated. in 1950 8% of the population was 65 or older. Today it's 22%. SO at nearly 1/4 of the population, their (our) numbers WILL be higher. Dumb and dumber hard at work.

"so yes, "numbers" will be higher than what, and how does that affect what was claimed? Tom's post was empty of reasoning wrt the subject. Never mind it but the destruction of the USA is right around the corner... 2 million illegal's crossed last year.. where are they? in every neighborhood in the country.. I happen to be in a transitional period, so I'll engage you briefly.

So what if this is happening.
Are you really saying that because a volcano can naturally add to global warming that humans then have the ok to double down on greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation and pollution?
What happens naturally takes centuries if not millennium to affect climate... Not 200 years all whilst killing ourselves in filth.
Is it that you can't see the forest for the trees... Or do you just prefer to cut them all down and live as a parasite on this planet?

Im just suggesting maybe the battle is focused on the wrong group.. maybe humans are not the problem but get the blame.. Figure out how to shut the volcanoes down and maybe problem solved and instead of the world ending in 8-10 years we can get another 200 out of her.

So rich America is the main problem, right?
These people therefore are so very angry that more aren't vaxxed in order to save more Americans and destroy the planet that much more quickly and bring in more people so they can have higher consumption and bigger families.

If volcanoes end the world... It's a natural process and that I can accept.
But if we do it.. at this point it is out of ignorance, complacency and greed.

My bottom line is this and I still haven't heard any argument that's worth entertaining. It doesn't matter if we are the cause or not, nor if it's happening or not. It is still pollution. It's still killing us and everything else and if we are as smart as we think we are there is no reason not to do all we can to leave this earth the way we found it.

I think a lot of people, particularly those with a Y chromosome, have this whole knee-jerk reaction to blame. Must've been getting up to no-good when they were young and have a guilty conscience that they "doth protest too much". Their whole shtick is "It's not my fault so I don't have to do anything to fix the problem". They're more wrapped up in denying any culpability than in saying, OK, how can we help make the situation better?

Every bit of smoke from every cooking fire or wildfire or battle, every ounce of pollution, every industrial chemical belch, all the smogs of London and LA and Beijing and Delhi, every volcano's eruption that ever was: it's all still here with us. It didn't leave the planet. It's still here. So it it not that each individual is TO BLAME for our current predicament, but rather that it is ALL our misfortune to have been born at this point in the accumulation of pollution. We all need to come up with solutions to make the environment better before we shuffle off this mortal coil. It's not about blame. Calm your little Y chromosomes down.

If there is no per se blame how do you identify the problem? Seems to be part of the process?

I am just pointing out that maybe, just maybe the humans are not all the blame and might not be the actual problem.. Maybe its a misdiagnosis and maybe the ones doing the diagnosis have other plans that are a little more devious than we know.

Since we started digging it up, pumping it up and burning it, we have unlocked it, releasing it into the atmosphere. That is when the problems started. How to reverse what we have done for 200 years is not a big mystery.
