Surface604 Modifications & Upgrades?

I have a 2017 Surface604 Rook, since March 2018, and love it.

I'm contemplating upgrading/tricking it out for improved performance. Anyone have any experience with upgrading either the display or the controller?


Here is what I have found so far:

Controller upgrade, might permit higher speeds. Currently 48V, 18AH

Big question: Are the app & features any good?
Would the bluetooth permit interaction with any other interesting/useful apps?

I can work through these questions on my own. Just looking to connect with anyone with a surface604 who has or is considering similar upgrades.

Its awesome that you want to upgrade your bike, but just a heads up, the battery on the Boar is a different sized casing than the Rook.

Hi Gord - thanks for the info on the boar battery, too bad, but I appreciate the clarification.

Any experience with the alternate display, or where to buy it?

Thoughts/suggestions on the controller?

@dpw yup I've tried the display, didn't get too much time to play with it but I'd assume there are some nice features.

For the controller I'd take a look at how big it is to see if it fits within the frame of the Boar. May be interesting to get customization with the bike
