SLX shift indicator

I've been riding my Haibike Sduro Trekking 9 for a while now and the lack of a gear indicator doesn't bother me but after nearly 80 years of riding bikes looking for it is a habit I can't get over. I've always had something telling me the gear I'm in even when I used to compete in MB, does anyone else miss this feature it can't only be me? Or am I so senile I just can't see it?
Otherwise this is one awesome bike.

Different bike here, but when the first bike had to be replaced under warranty, the next bike had no gear indicator. I totally miss it! If for no other reason it was a nice visual reminder to shift down when coming to a stop, if I was forgetful in thinking about it / trying to retain in my head the current gear setting...

this is what came with my SLX shifter on my felt Sport 85. Doesn't have actual number but just an arc with a red indicator that moves along the path. The one in the picture is pointing to the highest gear all the way on the left. At the lowest gear it would be all the way to the right, with eight steps in-between. Just points of reference but helpful.
