Legend has it that this mundane landing was a major launching site for Rum Running. "The first English-Canadian province to repeal Prohibition, BC became the source of much of the liquor smuggled illegally into the US before it too finally repealed its legislation in 1933. " "Rum Running of liquor from Canada or from Canadian ships to American boats off the US coast was a profitable business. Unlike the activities on the Atlantic, the Pacific Rum Running trade was much smaller and thus immune from Mafia interests. "

"Rum runners in BC would sail up and down the coast, often with tens of thousands of cases tucked in away on lumber ships. One of such ships being the infamous Malahat, known as the Queen of Rum Row. "

I was making my way on a quiet farm road in Western Iowa when I happened on this early 50s Corvette (it’s a ‘55 T-bird) for sale. If anyone knows exact year/model info, lmk!

Are you sure it is a Corvette? It is very cool. It looks more like a Thunderbird or a Lincoln Continental?
I thought the badge is Corvette-specific, but maybe I’m wrong. More research needed. Almost all the Thunderbirds I’ve seen have it spelled out, no?

Here is a ‘55 Thunderbird and it’s a good match, except for the badge:

Keep the pics coming please! Now that I think of it I am sure I posted a similar car on this thread in summer. It was a 56 Lincoln coupe .

Sink hole and trail gnome/horse. Never would have seen the gnome but for the fact that I was coming into a blind sharp right hand corner on a new to me trail and put my hand on a long ago fallen long log to check it out and almost crushed the little guys. Turns out it was good I stopped because there was a small tree right in the middle of the trail that I had to get off for anyway.

Bonus points for the first person that can identify the gnome.
