A few parting shots of our Four Hills road cycling trip in Banff National Park.

There were plenty of clear stretches of road to ride on. This fine example was along the Lake Minnewanka Loop with a nice view of Cascade Mt.

A stopover at Johnstone Lake along the same loop with Mt Inglismaldie looming in the background.

There was no escaping views of this peak along the Minni Loop.

View overlooking Vermillion Lakes (to the rt) seen from a switchback along the road up to Mt Norquay. The road below is the start of our ride up the Norquay Road. Mt Rundle makes a statement centered in of the background.

I’ve been using a stock out-of-the-box DJI mini 2 which is under the 250g max weight allowable for non-restricted rec drones in Canada. I always have the camera set at 4K 24fps. I’m definitely not a pro when it comes to photo/videography so I usually leave it on auto but switching to manual setting will allow one to control shutter speed, white balance, etc… to further tweak/enhance the resolution of the final product. I also use ND filters which really help with over exposure during sunny conditions. It’s akin to putting sunglasses on. I’m still pretty much a novice and still working on user technique but I do find that keeping it in cine mode during flight as opposed to normal/sport setting will result in ultra smooth motion such as when performing banked turns or simply moving the drone slowly forward is vital during the recording process to obtain quality pro-like footage. Normal or sport modes will allow you to turn the drone around, move forward or return back in a much quicker fashion if required. Single frame shots such as the first two images can be further enhanced with any photo editor. There are plenty of online video tutorials out there that will help those (such as me) who have never operated a drone before to get started on the right foot. I also found that practicing in an open field at lower altitude helped me to gain confidence and improve my handling skills. Just a word of caution, check for restricted air space before you decide to launch

Here are a couple of more images I extracted from footage earlier this spring.

You've inspired me to go out and get a drone. Seems to go well with tripping around all over the place on an electric bike. Did my first test flight yesterday and got out and took a few photos today. This is from my ride down the Semiahmoo Trail in South Surrey:

yesterdays ride .. my usual route over to Reeth and to the Dales bike centre not far from the start of the swale trail. Piercebridge through Aldbrough ST John over the A66 to Richmond and along the Swale valley to Reeth. had to start with a bacon+egg sarnie and coffee . looks like they have been doing lots of work on the trail paths more defined new gates looks loads better than when i was over last time .
once you reach Gunnerside the trail crosses to the other side and heads to Keld and my next refuelling stop, then up to Tan hill no time for a pint though ,headed down the rough track to Bowes into Barny then the lanes to get back to Shldon and the cycle path home . 78 miles and was 72 f almost all the day

Since I retired 3 years ago. I made Father's Day a day to myself.
Today's ride to the west side of the Island, it was intended as Test Ride on my new Canadian made ebike.
It's fantastic and I feel confident in it that nothing was going to fail.
I stopped to click pictures.
Naturally I took a dip in the Ocean to dexofy. Salt water does wonders for the body. Good for the muscles!!!!!
Happy Father's Day!

yesterdays ride ..was for a change of direction we headed south on fairly quiet roads towards Yarm . then out by the rear of the prison and through Hutton Rudby .then through east+west rountons. at Appleton Wiske we had a break as it was a tad bit warm. roughly 29c so Mr Garmin said .
then on to Hornby and the the nice quiet road back into Neasham ,though once we got to Hurworth Eddie needed more drinks so a stop was made . and just as the school's seemed empty there was wall to wall traffic so was decided we chill under a tree and let the traffic clear .
once cleared we dropped into Croft-on-tees then the longer route via Cleasby- Manfield to pick up the road to Piecebridge then back our usual Walworth Heighington and back to Aycliffe . 58 miles in excellent weather with good mates 😁😁

Today I Ride early morning to watch canoe race. It's not not the MC Farmlands regatta but nonetheless it's was competition.
Canoe race is State Sport on my Island. Monies were thrown around which team would win.
No bets from me, instead I donated 100$ to three teams.
I don't have a lock for my bike so I was allowed to park it in the cage of racing canoes.
I walked around eat their grilled food and went ride on to the memorial park.
I'll let the pics say it all.

Today was going to be quite warm (30C or so) therefore some wind in the face was in order...

Surprised to see large puddles. There was a much larger one behind me that I didn't think to take a pic of...

Left at noon and I saw absolutely nobody else on the greenway! Too hot?

You can see Mt. Baker in the background...

A little shade...

This guy has a crappy view, am I right?

15km in I decided to exit and do some road...

I was 6 years old when this bridge over the highway was built...

John Oliver Park where a bunch of guys were flying quadcopters FPV...

Some shade on the way home...

At first I was going to jump this, and then thought better of it...

Stance needed a quick rest on the way back...

Great day!
