Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

I couldn't get out yesterday which is a shame as it was such a beautiful day with clear cloudless skies (not something you see very often in Scotland) but I made it out today thankfully, 41.6 wonderful miles in near perfect cycling conditions! It sure made up for yesterday's disappointment! :) 174 miles covered already this month so I consider myself very fortunate in the current climate!

The nice weather and impending weekend is bringing the stay at homers in droves to the OR coast. A little rich tourist trap town north of here tried to be nice but ended up shutting down all their beach but will reopen on Tuesday....Anyway I was getting a little Cape bound and set up a GPS track for an all gravel ride north of me that I had to drive to but a long section was one of my favorite 2 lane country roads. So I guess I was breaking the stay at home thing also but the big difference was that I went to an area that is all behind forest gates and had a nice little area all to myself for a 24 mile/4k ride with great views on a nice day.

I was going to have a rest day today but I noticed we are getting a gusty and bitterly cold northeasterly wind tomorrow and given that there is very little wind today and the temp is 16C it was a no brainer! :D Just under 31 very enjoyable miles covered today so I have now covered 235 miles so far this month! Strangely after tomorrow which will only be 8C the temp will rise by 1C each day so by next weekend it will be a balmy 15C!:p I just had to stop and get a photo of this very young foal, its so tiny and so cute!😁

it is the Rebel 5.5 27.5 lite. I think I lucked out and it came with the PW-SE motor and controller. I love this bike!

An excellent BH Bike model... I really like the Yamaha PW-SE motor system.

It was like winter again at first this morning but with the sun beating down it soon warmed up, the wind was straight from the north so I headed south to avoid the cold! By the time I was headed north again it was just a nice temp for cycling! Just under 37 miles covered today in lovely conditions, another very enjoyable ride!

I can't believe how lucky I have been with the weather since the lockdown was put in place on March 23rd, it has now been extended for another 3 weeks with the only change being we are now allowed out for exercise as often as we like as long as we keep within the social distancing rules! I will stick with my shorter rides though as I'm out almost every day!

I passed a local pond and spotted some newborn geese which were so adorable and then another troupe appeared from the water, they were probably only a few weeks old! Nature is such a wonderful thing, I feel blessed every day! :)

Not riding today but a close friend of mine visited me today because I'm giving away the surplus gear I don't need and Joanna got my Specialized rear-view mirror; she's an avid and athletic rider of two-wheel recumbent bikes. (On her Czech Republic trip last Summer she had been riding for 11 days with her hardest day covering 100 miles/160 km with 3900 ft/1200 m elevation gain, all on a mechanical bike).

Joanna took the chance to demo-ride my Vado. She has been riding for 20 minutes testing all assist levels. She easily hit 25 mph (40 km/h) with 70% assist level.

The word "element" is too vague. The only possible thing I can think of is the hub caps on the rear wheel of the car. Other than that the rearview mirror you gave to her.

Just under 33 miles covered today in chilly conditions for the time of year, first rain for a while but it wasn't even heavy enough to wet the roads! I couldn't be bothered taking photos today, I was watching a herd of cows with a lot of young calfs annoying their mothers so grabbed a couple only! :p I have now covered 2,083 miles this year from 50 rides, way more rides than normal due to being off work on lockdown! Only 69 rides for the whole of 2019 so its quite a jump!

Yesterday, for the first time, we rode the Johnny Cash Trail as a part of our ride. Opened in OCT 2017 this trail segment commemorates the Man in Black's concerts at the nearby Folsom State Prison. Starting in Old Town Folsom, the trail crosses over prison property for a portion of its length. The trail's grand opening marked the 50th anniversary of the Folsom prison concerts.

The Johnny Cash Trail interconnects with the City of Folsom bike trail system and California's American River trail system providing multiple day trip opportunities in an urban setting. We've ridden our mech bikes as far as 55miles in a day and never ran out of trail.

0515201214_Film1.jpg

The Johnny Cash bridge echos the guard towers, complete with iron gates, that are still in use at the prison. Opened in 1880, the prison is the 2nd oldest in California. Built from the local granite, the prison was originally a max security facility often referred to 'as the end of the line'. Today it houses men and women in a medium security facility.

The Robbers Ravine bridge is a wooden arch bridge spanning 160 feet with views of the American River and glimpses of the granite prison walls. The bridge was fabricated in Oregon and shipped to the site disassembled. After assembly the 80,000lb bridge was lifted into place by crane. The ravine was purported to be an outlaw hideout in the mid- to late- 1800's. In DEC 1897 the
Folsom "Telegraph" reported: "On last Monday evening, at about 7 o'clock, as Chris. Sorenson, the butcncr. was returning from his delivery trip into the country, and when he had reached Robbers' Ravine, about a mile from Folsom. he was accosted by a highwayman and held up In the most approved style. The robber demanded what money Chris, had, and. in addition, helped himself liberally to meat from the wagon. "On arriving here Sorenson reported the matter to the officers, and Constable Burke started in pursuit of the robber, who, however, he was not able to apprehend. This is the first robbery that has occurred in this vicinity for some time past. Sorenson's loss amounted to money and a quantity of meat."

Funding for the trail was a mix of public and private funds. Funding raising is still ongoing for public art planned for trail side display. Can you make out several of the singer's song titles and quotes in the donors'wall?

It was a beautiful Spring day with light breezes and temps up to 80F by mid-afternoon. Unlike our previous ride in the valley, riders were well spaced and respectful of 'social distancing'. The gradual 'opening up' of local stores and restaurants may have helped with this.

Rain is predicted at out home starting tomorrow afternoon with snow on the Sierra summits that are about an hour away from home. It's Spring in the Sierras...😎

Ride on.

Rain was forecast today from around 10am so I decided to get out before 8am and try to beat the rain, within 30 mins the rain had already started and at times was quite heavy! Thankfully it wasn't cold so it didn't spoil my 40 mile trip, this will probably be my last trip until Monday as we have a storm coming with winds around 55mph! I have now covered exactly 2,200 miles this year already and as I still don't know when I will return to work this might increase quite a bit in the coming weeks!
