I wanted a small pen to carry with me,..

I wanted a white magic marker to mark my black e-bike frames.
Paint is too sloppy for fine details and takes too long to dry.

I finally found something,..

I was scratching lines in my seatpost with a dental pick to mark the seat height. 😂

Just got this guy to make it easier to cut off or pull out nails in pants I put nails in. have hundreds to remove sometimes.
Thanks for the tip. I'm tearing down a 10 x 13 tractor shed built 71 years ago with oak and pine lumber salvaged from a 19th-century barn. I pull nails out of each board as I remove it so I won't have to cut or pull nails out of my pants later. Your tool looks better for the purpose than the ones I've been using. I ordered one.

Knipex is a Quality Brand Name Tool.
There are no known fakes on the market.
Knipex doesn't just protect their patent to look for fakes, they actively protect their factories that make the tools.

There are no Knipex tools made in China, or anywhere else where they don't have a Very Close Eye on the the factory.

Fake products aren't just about reproducing the product to resemble the real McCoy.
It's about protecting the process about how the tools are made, and the machines that build them.

Corporate espionage is rampant, and selling tooling and design information is more lucrative than selling the actual product specifications.

The boys at the top of the American Made factories are sometimes willing to sell the information.
Once it gets to China, the information is lost.

Knipex, although it is a square-head German company, protects its factories and all the "Proprietary" processes involved in making quality, long lasting tools.

Ask any tradesman (or Woman) if they would use a Knipex tool in their trade.

Almost every manufacturer sold out to the Chinese, and almost everyone bought into it.

Chinese crap is cheap and replaceable.
Quality stuff is cheaper in the long run because it lasts forever.

It's just too damn bad that lasting forever isnt good for the economy.
It's only good for the environment, and who gives a s*it about that?

Do you think maybe @fooferdoggie meant to say "plank" instead of "pants" ?

I know his wife is blind and can't proof read his posts, but I too am having a hard time figuring out how the hell @fooferdoggie got "hundreds" of nails stuck in his pant, and why the Hell he can't just pull them out instead of cutting them off ??

nails stuck in his pants
He used voice-to-text when a dog barked or something, like a plane flew by. Fence became 'pants'. Phants-to-pants. Maybe the AI thought he was Welch/Irish or more likely from the deep rural south, like Forest Gump and corrected.

There was a party at Harvard when Forest asked two girls where they go to school. They said, Yale, and he said, WHARE DO YOU'ALL GO TAH SCHOOL!

I HATED That movie !!

My mom and I watched it on VHS years after it was THE BEST MOVIE of that year.

We were both expecting to be Blown Away by the movie.

We were both Very Unimpressed, by how a fricken retard could accomplish so much in his lifetime.
Including how the Love Of His Life could so utterly abuse him and how he just kept going back to her until he buried her.

What a crock of s*it.

Life is life a box of turds.
You don't know what the Hell you're gunna get.

It sure as Hell ain't whut Forest Gump pulled from his box of chocolates.
Fricken chocolate covered shrimps 🦐.

Tom Hanks is a smug asshole too.
All righteous and such.
His own son is all fucked up and hates him.

Someone with all of Tom's Harvard like experience in life shouldn't raise a kid that hates him.

Robert E. Lee is the patron saint of low self-esteem, which means being primarily concerned with what people will think. The purpose of education is to produce a docile generation by instilling low self-esteem. Shut up. Sit still. When called upon, you have 5 seconds to address a roomful of critics. If classmates and teacher don't find your response agreeable, you are a loser.

Forrest Gump was the epitome of high self-esteem, which was why classmates stoned him. By the time his childhood sweetheart was in college, education had reduced her self-esteem to the point that she was desperately seeking the approval of a peer group far more foolish than Gump. That was her undoing.

My niece was in first grade when the movie came out. Young enough to see the profound truth, she loved it. When she was a college senior, I sent her an email claiming I'd won the contract for her college's new advertising campaign. I was going to put up billboards and wanted her to be my poster girl. The new slogan would be, "It's not just for smart people anymore."

She offered to pose in front of the administration building, on a bench with a box of chocolates on her lap. She still loved that movie!

I haven't read through this thread from start to finish, so maybe some of these have already been posted. If so, I apologize. Here are a few bike related tools that I've used a lot over the years that you may not be familiar with.

On the left is a set of KMC Missing Link *installation* pliers. They are the opposite of the removal pliers, which are a lot more common. It stretches the chain around the Missing Link so that it is installed properly.

Center top is a set of Zipp valve core tools. They are used to swap out valve cores for tubes with removable cores. This is typically done when installing valve stem extensions.

Center bottom is a set of Shimano Ultegra spoke wrenches. You can use a standard spoke wrench with these wheels, but these are specially made for Ultegra wheels, and grap the spoke nipple better.

On the right is a set of surgeon's alligator forceps. I've used these so many times for so many things, I've lost count. The last time I used them, I had to remove a broken key out of a lock cylinder.

I just spotted this guide to help with replacement wheel sizing and or tire sizing. It helps convert general everyday parlance in to scientific ETRO specifications. 622 could mean 700c or 28 or 29' for example, so are you ordering the right stuff? A 135mm drop out is 5.31 inches. Opposite, right, well almost? Fact check please. @stompandgo, those forceps are so cool.

It took me a while to figure out that my bike, which has 55-622 ERTO tires on it, could be referred to as 28", 29", or 700c. That's just weird.

The Shwalbe website let's you see both sizings.
You just click ETRTO or INCH to see the equivalent.

I ordered 27.5 X 2.80 tires that came from England but my tires had 70-584 printed on them.
I didn't know what that was.

I've got both, but I only have trouble opening a link.
Using the installation pliers works OK to remove a link, but you have to pull the handles apart with both hands.

Yeah, those look Really useful !!
I want a pair !!

I can't tell from looking at the hinge, but do the "jaws" open or close when you squeeze the handles?

I won't be operating on any alligators, but they sure look useful. 😁
