ShangMilo throttle change

Hello everyone I have just signed up and have a question please.
I have the Shangmilo MX02s 48v e-bike which came with a twist throttle but would like to change it to a thumb throttle.
My twist throttle has 3 wires to an SM 3 pin male plug wires are Black ground, white Speed and red 5v
I would like to get something like this thumb throttle https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004475067952.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.34f538dawNtCEN&mp=1
which also has the same plug and wires. (scroll down on page shows wiring diagram)
Would this be a simple swap as I would not want to cause problems and blow my controller.
So any help would be much appreciated

The beauty of the SM type plugs is that the wiring order can be changed if necessary, to match up with the opposing side. Clearly you need to be really careful doing this, to find the tiny little barb that holds each pin in place.

I'd give it a try!
