Rack Bag Lock

I recently bought a ENGWE Bag for my Aventon Level 2 and after using the 4 velcro straps to mount it, I stood back to admire it. I immediately thought that bag way to easy to steal off the bike, I'm knew I'd worry every time I parked my bike on an errand. I found this lock made by Shot Lock that fit snuggly and looked to add some level of security. It loops around the rack and thru the 2 hold down tie points incorporated onto the bag, see photo. You can find these locks on eBay or elsewhere for well under $20. Now I realze bolt cutters would easily defeat this, but I believe it will thwart a casual thief from a quick grab and run.

Zip ties might be better. You can really sinch them down enough to NOT be able to cut them. You can also put many ties on that bag making a would-be thief trying to find all of them. Sure they could still cut/break that plastic loop, but they’d have to do each one.

I use the MIK quick attach system on all my bikes & bags. The bags have D rings on each end for a shoulder strap. I carry my valuables in the bag and just use the strap to take the bag with me when leaving the bike.

A bag lock isn't a bad idea though if it's firmly attached to the bike.
