Please recommend some tyres for my ebike

You can help me please with a sugestion ?
I have a new ebike Scott Strike eride 930 2020 edition with 29 wheels. It's a full suspension ebike with a Bosch gen 4 motor. It came with 2,6 tyres Maxxis Rekon but i use my ebike just on asphalt roads in the city and outside and ocasionaly on the country roads , not on the mountain trails because we don't have any mountains here )) I purchase new tyres Schwalbe Smart Sam 2,25 but the one from the front is whobbly from the factory so is deffective. I see that it hasn't grip at all on the corners or on the wet road. I want to do some changes. On the rear i want to put a rack because my Scott ebike has holes in the frame for this and a mudguard. Considering this, what tyres do you sugest to use ? One friend of mine sugest to leave the Smart Sam 2.25 on the rear and put the Maxxis 2.6 tyre on the front but i want to keep those Maxxis tyres for mountain trails. Other friend recomends Nobby Nic, Racing Ralph...A technician from a bike shop told me in a online discussion that for my rim type i must put tyres over 2.3 like 2.3 , 2.4 and so on....i don't know what to do to get it right. I instal very hard both Smart Sam 2.25, it was a horrible experience )) Also, it not be weird look to have 2.25 on the rear and 2,6 on the front ? I don't want to instal and uninstal all the time tyres and please give me a sugestion with a tyre dimensions, brands and types of tyres. I can make a financial effort to buy another 2 tyres , or i can keep the 2.25 Smart Sam on the rear and buy just one tyre for the front if you think this is a solution. Please be kind and help me with some alternatives solutions. Thank you and please excuse my poor english. P.s.: i really like how it looks the tyres with beige on the both sides so please consider this minor wish when you will recommend some tyres ( it will fit very well with the colour of my ebike ) . In the final i can buy just a simple black tyres if it will be the only good solution but i don't to buy another tyres just to be disapointed

You need 2.6" tyres, Flo. Your 2.25" ones are not defective. They are just too narrow.

Only 2,6 ? Because on the rear i want to put the rack and he has one support to catch from the frame, on the back of the seat post and it can damage a 2,6 tyre because this size of tyre are to narrow from that support. Please tell me what sizes i can put on my ebike, minimum and maximum.

Thank you ! Damn, i'm used with cm , not inch. So, if i understand corectly, for my 30mm rim i must use 2,3" min size tyre and 3" max size ? If it's correct, the online agent lied to me ! When you want an advice from a customer agent you don't expect to be lied.....

I am more used to inches. But since everything else on a bicycle is listed using metric numbers, I am not sure why they list tires in inches. Better to keep everything consistent.

The 2.25 tires are a shade small on 30mm wide rims. They'll fit, but it seems you found they're difficult to get sealed up, especially if you're doing a tubeless setup. A bicycle pump most likely will not do it.

I got 2.35 Bontrager E2 tires used on ebay for $75 for the pair, would have paid the going rate for them for new ones, these were take-offs. These went on an extra set of rims for my mountain bike as well, for riding on the road. They're a wonderful tire. However the 2.4 is only available on the 27.5 diameter rim, the 29 is a 2" wide tire, so no go for your wide 29"/700c wheels.

Schwalbe tires are going to be the easiest to source, my guess, and they are good tires. I've tried Continental with horrible results, so Maxxis or Schwalbe for me.
The Hurricane would be a good option - comes in 2.4 wide size. This would be my best recommendation. Great tire, smooth center, has some shoulder knobs, perfect for your application.

They have a brand new tire called the Super-Moto, would also be excellent for your application - a smooth tire. The 62-622 size. They call it 28", but they fit a 29" wheel - 28x2.4. I doubt you'll find these in a bike shop, so order online, either direct from Schwalbe or a tire retailer.

Big Apple is another option, but may be hard to find - North America site says 'out of stock'. Another 28x2.35 size tire:

They are ebike-ready, but not tubeless.

I'm not aware of a gum-wall bike tire in these styles and sizes. Knobbies on the road just isn't very efficient. I recommend a smooth tire, put about 40lbs in them, and you get a nice comfortable ride with good traction.

If you're in USA I'd be happy to sell you a very lightly used set, cheap - Big Apple 28x2.35's. I had them on my Giant Explore, but they were really too big. Perfect for a 30mm wide rim though. I squeezed them onto 19 and 21mm wide rims.

The 2.25 tires are a shade small on 30mm wide rims. They'll fit, but it seems you found they're difficult to get sealed up, especially if you're doing a tubeless setup. A bicycle pump most likely will not do it.

Rims should be at least 50% of tire width, a standard the bike industry is now moving to. 2.25 aka 57 mm is not too small on a 30mm rim.

OP, I'd look at Schwalbe G One Speed for tubeless, speed and lightness, an Almotion for more puncture protection or a Moto for bigger size and lower price.

I am changing over my 29er back to Big Apple 60-622 (28x2.35) for Spring rides with speed on roads and gravel. These are wire bead so they require tubes. Big Apples are fast and smooth. The rims on my Specialized Chisel are narrower than yours. The outside width of these rims is 27.8mm or 1.09in. I did internal wiring for a clean conversion to electric.

Here is a simplified chart for rim and tire sizes in inches based on your intended use.
I would recommend using 2.2" - 2.4" tires for road/light trail use with 30mm ID rims.

I ordered Johnny Watts for my Giant Fathom, but haven't tried them yet as it's icy and snowy here.
This site would probably deliver to Romania, as they list it as a country in their shopping system.

Here's the link for the Johnny Watts and it's set for Romania and in Euro. Tires are 50 Euro each.
Only 3 left in 29" x 2.6" so best make a decision quickly.
I am sure that that vendor will have other choices for you to look at as well.

I've ordered from them before, and the delivery had been very fast.
I have no idea what Brexit has done to deliveries into the Euro zone, as I think they are headquartered in Northern Ireland.

II had a brief visit to your country in the autumn of 2019 - only had time for Bucharest, but we really enjoyed the time there.

I put 2,6" tyre on front and 2,35" on rear. FlatSix911, this chart tells me that is not ok to instal 2,6" tyre on my 30mm rims ? It's weird because my bike came from the factory with 2,6" tyres. Hmmmm....
Also 2,6" J Watts not look fluffy. It"s a little bit skinier than my previous Smart Sam. Looks great, have good grip and very good behaviour at corners, but noisy. I'm still wait the pack with my decals for my mudguards to instal them finaly. But i have no luck because DHL tells me for a week that my pack is stuck in Leipzig, Germany. Hmmm...to bad.
I think to purchase a pair of MAXXIS REKON +, dark tan version, you know, those tyres who has beige stripes on sides....but i can't find them. Maybe you have some tips. I need a second pair of tyres. Maybe Vittoria tyres have an allaround tyres good for me to ? I look at Michelin E wild but it seems to have a rolling resistance on an asphalt roads.
Those Moto Schwalbe tyres looks great but somehow weird because i don't know if it will have a good grip if i will go on a offroad trail....

No, the online agent didn't lie, your time can accommodate smaller tires. A 30 mm rim can definitely accommodate tires 38-60 mm wide, and likely even more on either side.

No worries Flo. FatSix is not always right I told you 2.6" was the proper size for your rim. I'm so glad you found right tyres!

You seem to already own a set of Maxxis Rekon, only not "+". Just keep them and use off-road! Rekons are high-class off-road tyres (I use them on my Giant Trance E+ in the summer).

Thank you, Stefan ! Your advices was very helpful as always ! I already had a pair of Rekons but it's an OEM tyres, a stock ones, the cheapest with no serious protections , so i want to sell them and buy a plus one set with beige stripes on sides.
I also want to buy a Volspeed V3 cip to deristrict my Bosch Performance Gen 4 motor, but my motor has the 1.0.2.0 firmware ( it's an old one) and i don't want to have 504 or 503 errors aftet the deristrictions. Some people has tose errors eveb without a cip - it's inexplicable ! Also it's weird that some guys with this old firmware has errors and others don't. Some guys says to upgrade this firmware to a new one because the old one will record errors for sure, some says don't because the new ones has more frequently errors and so on. It's weird again that for this errors appearance it's no rules to know what you must do to avoid this or what do you have to do to choose the right steps. I don't understand how it can be possible that some have errors and some doesn't with same firmware and same bikes. It's very awkward to me, a mistery and no one can to tell me a clear explanation.
And your words are right when you said to me that most of the time i will not need 30 or 40 km/h speed. But i need the cip just to have the option to exceed the speed limit when the situation demands. That's why.

Hi Stefan, I think you may have missed the point of the original question... what is the best size for a road tire on his rims?
The 2.6" tire will fit, but it is not the optimum width for a road tire... 2.2"-2.4" would be far better on-road. Hope this helps.

If you ask me FlatSix, I would have used Johnny Watts 2.6" Which I plan to use on my Trance E+ for the warm season. Yes, there is another matter: the Trance's rims are 35 mm.
