Part for Battery

Do you know why the port melted? That would be my biggest concern about continuing to use the battery. Sharp discharges can weaken/damage things in ways that are a bit dangerous. Is that where your battery connects to the controller wiring? If not, I’d seal that off completely. See,

Do you know why the port melted?

No clue, I am guessing there was junk in the port that caused a small disconnect. I didn't take my battery off all summer so it's possible very small arcs were happening just built up heat over time over and over. Not sure how else it could have melted unless there was too much current was flowing through it, but I do trust Biktrix and their controller but all I can do is replace the parts and see if the issue happens again. I have no ability to isolate or test all these other components to make sure they didn't cause the issue.

That type of failure is common with ebike batteries and it's typically caused by contamination and/or poor vibration isolation.

And I have no clue if this happened over time or if it all happened at once. I am assuming it was over time. It is a 1000w mid drive so it does pull a lot of juice. This also makes me realize it is probably a good reason to take the battery off once in a while and clean the contacts off.

It's typically over time and progressively gets worse until failure.

I took apart my 5 pin battery base on my Biktrix Juggs 4 bike,
(battery slides into and locks the battery to the bike),

I found these numbers molded into the battery discharge parts,
Retention??<(hard to read), PLA-2099 and PLA-2049.

I used the above numbers and failed to find any information
pertaining to the 5 pin discharge connectors.
Back to researching.....
Can you post pics of the male and female connectors?

It looks like a 5 pin Hailong plug with a pos and neg wire,
attached to each outside pin.
The female side is in the battery and I am afraid of messing with that part.
I don't know how to post photo's here, Sorry.
