Ok so about the regen and the 0mph when coasting.

So how do you know if the bike is “regen-ing” or not. Is there an indicator on the display? Mine is already turned on in the setting. Also, one other user and I are not seeing the speed when coasting, meaning the displayed speed is at 0mph when we’re going downhill or just speeding while not pedaling/throttling. Are all wallke bikes like that? My wallke x3 pro is functioning and all but I just feel like the pas is slower and slaggier than the pas on my Lectric XP for some reason.

Advance settings might fix your PAS. The setting thats 1-3, try selecting it, then you can adjust the % each step gives. I also changed my tire diameter to 24" to get tge speedometer closer to a gps or real speed. Still drops after no power though. I suspect the speedo went by way of the regen. They flat out told me, "hardware on 2021 models is not compatible with regen" "too many users were burning out controllers". Hmmm..... me tbinks Al was correct that they changed motors, kept the old components, and now the speedo doesnt work....

yea been emailing wallke as well and they told me the same thing and basically wants me to accept all these issues. They did want me to send them a gps comparison video. Its gunna be really difficult to film. I'm not sure if I'm still hopeful. Regarding the tire diameter setting change, will it let me hit the promised top speed tho? or is it still just 22mph?

Good question.
I am doubtful...lol
I will ride tonight on a fresh recharge and see.

I am curious, did the rep tell you that it was "first time ive had that complaint" about the malfunctioning speedometer?

So, fresh charged battery, no load high speed with display set for 24" tire size gives 29 mph indicated. Me on the bike at 185lb, max speed 22 mph indicated, and near the same on GPS.

Ok I see. So it still doesn’t give us the advertised top speed

No. It does not give us anywhere near the advertised speed.
I ordered the Wallke x3pro the same day my father ordered an Aventon Aventure, another 750w fat tire bike. Today I rode with him for a 32 mile loop. He is 60lb heavier than me, plus his bike is 10lb heavier.... the Aventon blew the Wallke away. Especially climbing uphill, it was night and day.
After our ride, I took his bike for a short ride. His bat was reading 40% and I got his bike to 29mph indicated on his speedometer, and indicated on my gps. So, go figure, faster, and a working speedometer, even while coasting. No regen on his, and no expectation of it. But also 450.00 less than mine....
I need to seriously consider returning the bike, if just out of principal.

Coasting downhill. You can feel the bike slowdown and you see the red indicator on how much wattage being produced. You can also see the speed of the bike

Thanks for the pic. Mine doesnt do that. In fact your speedometer works while coasting and mine goes to zero. X3Pro, April order delivered May 2021
Would be handy just to slow the bike on my 4 mile descent off the mountain I live on.

I will do a video of comparison showing GPS and the display discrepancy, and try to post it here. Someone else just posted a photo of the display during regen coasting, and not only was it regenerating, the speedo was working!

I remember reading somewhere in our forums …not to regen when going down steep hills..user was rizzo20.. x3 owner ..he was coasting 28-30 mph downhill, switched to pas1 and headlight went really bright and then dimmed. User Had to replace controller and display unit.

I have since switched off the regen function in advanced settings… so even on pas 0-2 I am just coasting

I went to a school track and field and I tested the bike speedo and gps.. as you mentioned, the wheel setting needs to be at 24. The difference between bike speedometer and gps speed will be almost 1:1

This has certainly been a pricy learning experience about ebike electronics and motors! I have paid more for other education I suppose, But those lessons came with degrees I could put to use afterward. So, lets see what the new motors do without the inaccuracies of the Wallke "speedometer".
