New Turbo rider

Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself properly as a new Turbo owner. Thanks to the conversations on this forum and the review from EBR I made the decision to buy a demo model base Turbo 2015 for a (reduced!) price of NZD$4500.

I have been riding it for just over a week on my 19km each way commute.

I was previously riding a Giant CRS 1 commuter hybrid 27 gear, 700c road bike a couple of days a week. It would take me 46 mins ride time to do 19kms (+ up to 10 mins stopped at traffic lights).

The Turbo has cut this down to ~30mins ride time, so I'm very happy about that. It has also flattened out the Auckland hills which saves my back and makes it less punishing which means I can now commute on my bike every day and stop playing $200 a month for a bus pass. Sweet!

I've ordered the fender and rack kit (rode today on wet roads and got soaked!) and some panniers.

For other NZ'ers thinking about buying this bike, I can't recommend it and the team at Md Eden Cycles highly enough.

Richard, I like that saving $200 a month part. I canceled a fitness membership with activity on the bike paying the difference. At the Specialized website I saw they are coming out with great full suspension bikes. They are of the highest quality though. $9500.00 $7500.00 and $5500.00 depending on what level model you get. These are the type of bikes that I will love reading about in the forum and fantasizing how fun they are. They include 650b with 3 inch wheels. The "27.5 plus" standard is really getting reviewed well, as the best of a fatbike and a mountain bike all in one.

Hey Jim,

I'm with you on their e-mtb, beautiful! There was a discussion started last summer, not much information at the time though. You may be able to add to it with what you've read.
