got my first ebike just before Xmas. Older (65) rider so I wanted a step thru, after a lot of research decided on the Vitilan U7. Seemed like the best bang for the buck with hydraulic brakes, mag wheels, 750 watt motor, etc. Wanted one for exercise, been riding it a lot, over 260 miles on it already, at least 90% pedaling. I've been modifying it to suit me as I go, swapped ot the seat and handlebars for more comfort. Noticed it ghost pedaled over 17 - 18 MPH, so I swapped the chain ring from 48 tooth to 56 tooth, now I can pedal to at least 22 MPH. Was going to change the freewheel, but a lot easier, and cheaper, to swap the chain ring. Been a fairly mild winter, but really looking forward to the warmer weather.

Welcome aboard!

Any trouble with the law up there? Mass. isn't known as an ebike friendly state.

Good luck with the new bike and please post pics of the places you ride!

Thank you all for the welcome. I haven't had any problems with laws yet, but I hear down by the Cape Cod Canal bike paths I won't be welcome, kind of sucks, but not really surprising for this communist state, I hate it. I live in a small town in SE Mass (Carver) with lots of small back roads with usually little traffic, so thaat's where I ride. Did an 18 mile loop this morning, love going down all these little roads I've never been down and looking around to see where I end up.
Yesterday I added a handlebar extender/ relocatorto move them back a couple inches, I caan sit back further on the seat now, much better. Got the idea here from a member that did it to his Lectric bike. Added a small compass to the handlebars as well.

Well, since a search for Vitilan here only finds my post, I'll give a little update. I've put almost 360 miles on it since receiving just before Xmas. I had to crank the adjuster for the rear brake almost all the way in right out of the box, and I was having a problem with the inner part of the seat post spinning inside the outer (suspension seat post). After contacting customer service, sometimes frustatingly, I sent a couple videos of the problems. They ended up sending me a new seat post, brake bleed kit, and a complete rear brake system (lever, caliper, hose). Bleeding the brake solved the brake issue, and installed the new seat post. Once I had the original seat post out I did an autopsy to find the only thing wrong with it was a threaded bushing at the top of the seat post must have had its threadlock fail. Cleaned it, applied new threadlocker, and should be fine. So, overall I'm happy with the bike so far, and think it is a very good value for an entry level bike.

Passed the 1000 mile mark this week, 1076 miles as of this writing. Really enjoying it, getting lots of exercise. and look forward to my pretty much daily ride.

Hello fellow U7 rider! Just received 2 bikes for the wife and I and already see the upgrades I want to do. I saw your comments about the handlebar relocator and bigger chainring, and am wondering if you have made any other modifications. I would love to see some photos of what you did to your bars and your sources for the various items you changed. I have ordered better seat posts and seats, and would like to add handlebar suspension. Better lights are on order. I would love to hear from you. All the best
