This might be an incredibly dumb suggestion, but wouldn't more gear contact lead to more chance of the gears wearing down quickly
Maybe not, the pins are round and the gears are oval shaped. Perhaps less stress, more evenly distributed . They are not the traditional square teeth.

My curiosity is why they filed for bankruptcy if they were such an advanced company. possibly too much money to manufacture with those types of tolerances.

Very expensive to do leading edge development. My understanding is they had good tech that was ahead of it's time. Batteries were not strong enough. Unclear where the truth lies.

The bike is raced on the european bike race circuit. I would see how it performs in races. That might tell you more about where they are today.

Fritzmier is a giant company selling carbon sports equipment. Very leading edge. Fritzmeier revolutionized skis on the World Cup level. When I lived in Switzerland in high school, they were the coolest skis.

Fritzmeier owns M1. Fritzmeier has tremendous credibility.

Sounds like the racing model may actually have a bit of power

basically, M1 is selling carbon bikes for Fritzmier. I really like the light weight. A big advantage over the 74 pound bikes.

interesting. they offer nu Vinci or 10 speed xt. I wonder which would be better. they were worried about how the nu vinci would do under that much force.

Yes, nuvinci is not rated to 120Nm torque. Do not know why they even offer it. Perhaps only works on low power models.

yes, that would explain why the external sprockets are more expensive
Kyle,

I would want the Rohlff-14 IGH with that amount of torque. You will be going so fast, kicking up rocks. Would be very easy to destroy external gears. You will do 35-45 to have fun. I really like the Pinion gearbox on the Grace One. I am not so crazy about the 2kw motor. I do love the gearbox.

Yes, but with my current mountain bike- I go downhill at about 40 mph with rocks flying like you wouldn't believe. I haven't had any sprockets damages yet, but I would be careful with the battery getting sprayed with rock. on the other hand, they say it is shielded very well.

I sent an email to stealth asking about their 2 pedal mode transmission and how easy it is to pedal without power, and I emailed M1 about the acceleration of their speedy bike. I'll keep everyone posted on my gained knowledge.

Polaris acquired Brammo electric motorcycles, which manufactures NMC batteries. If Polaris adds NMC batteries to Aapex eBikes, Polaris could leapfrog the entire eBike industry. NMC is used by Tesla, BMW and most EV manufacturers. NMC can cut battery weight in half and double power of traditional Li-ion batteries.

NMC battery advance is what I am waiting for.

Here is the reply I got. sounds like this thing can go if you want it to. expand the box to see the reply.
Hi Kyle,

thanks for your interest in M1 Bikes.

The acceleration is based on your input. The engine is measuring your pedaling power and multiplies it depending on the level of assistance you choose, according to the following diagram:

(Link Removed - Attachment No Longer Exists)

For example if you choose level 4 and put in a power of 100Watts yourself, the engine gives you a power of additional 195Watts. This is calculated up to a maximum of 850 Watts. As the acceleration of the engine is determined by your input, you can easily choose for a gentile acceleration by gently pedaling or for a strong acceleration by pushing the pedals harder.

I hope this info is helpful for you.

Best wishes,
