Lectric XP

Just bit the bullet and bought a couple of SR Suntour NCX’s off AliExpress for a great price. They seem to be on a good sale right now! Compared to the price on Amazon it’s basically a two for one deal! So stoked! If you don’t mind waiting on shipping it’s the best way to go. And since I’m still waiting on the two bikes it was a no brainer for me. Link below.

US $48.10 26% Off | Suntour NCX bicycle Damping suspension seatpost mountain bike seat post 27.2 31.6 27.2mm/31.6mm*350mm sliver black Seatposts

Yeah, I just did too, and I'm also waiting for the bike. I'm 6' with a 30" inseam so I would expect the 350 mm post to work OK. I'll decide on whether to upgrade the seat once I try the new combo out.

I had put a couple other things in the cart but, checkout wouldn't accept Paypal. I deleted the other accessories and I was able to purchase the seat post using Paypal. Since the website isn't https I was reluctant to put my credit card info out on a non-secure site. AliExpress added $2.46 to take Paypal but it was worth the little extra for the peace of mind.

I just put Kenda Kraze from Rad Power Bikes on, there where a few things worth noting, first the Kenda tires are much thicker than the stock tires, second the tape protecting the tires from being punctured by the spoke screws was not put on good (just on the back tire, front was acceptable), so I used some gaffer tape to give me extra protection. I did not use any extra protection (slime), but if I were, it would be Mr. Tuffy tire liner, but the stuff is so expensive that I passed this time around.

May I ask where you got the Kenda tires?

Let us know when they come in.

I ordered one a week ago for May shipment

I received an email from Lectric Bikes this morning. April orders will start shipping today. They'll be shipping in order of date purchased. I ordered mid-April so it may take a couple more weeks.

I ordered 4/17 and did not receive yesterday's email. My last email from them stated that shipments would start May 10 with my arrival date the 3rd or 4th week of May.

I'm only 5'-7" and the 400 NCX seatpost was cutting it close for me, I think my inseam is only 28".

OK...here is info needed for the suspension fork upgrade. I'll give a quick shopping list followed by more details on everything below.

Quick list:
1. Pasak P35 20 inch suspension fork (Pasak P35 20 inch air suspension fork on AliExpress)
2. Neco H185 Headset (Neco H185 Headset on Ebay)
3. Spacer [OPTIONAL] (Steerer tube threadless spacers)
4. Adjustable folding steam (Adjustable folding bike stem)

More details:
1. Suspension fork: I used the Pasak P35 20 inch air suspension fork. This is an air shock and so far I think it's been working great. I'm not a bike guru...so I can't comment on the quality vs a high end name brand shock like RockShox, RST, etc...but I'm very pleased and works great for the purposes of this style of bike. You can buy these on ebay and aliexpress. I got mine from AliExpress.
I one one from here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000589965001.html?spm=2114.12010612.8148356.18.7b011236ehqcSY
I wasn't super impressed with JKlapin Biking. Their communication was usually pretty delayed and they didn't ship the second shock. After finally shipping it, the shock was returned to sender for some reason...all in all, I wouldn't say that they should be avoided...but there was definitely room for improvement.
I got my second shock from here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000138191431.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.527a4c4dujZwCD
Rubin bike doesn't have as much feedback...but my service was awesome from them! So maybe they are hungry being a newer merchant...but with my single purchase I was beyond happy.
It should be also noted, that the Pasak shock comes in an air and an oil variant. The oil variant is slightly cheaper...but should still work if you want a little less performance... For what it's worth, I'm almost certain the Rattan Fat Bear Plus ebike comes with the Pasak oil based suspension fork....downgrade from my air variant.
At the time, this appeared to be the only shock that worked which I could find reliably (20 inch, fat tire, etc). Now it appears there is one more shock, the RST Guide: https://www.biktrix.com/products/rst-guide-fork
I can't comment on the RST shock as I just barely saw it a couple days ago. It's the shock found on Aventon Sinch bike.
Bob or anyone else, I bought one of the Air Suspension Bike Forks from Rubin Bike on AliExpress and it shows that the seller cancelled the shipment. Did you have this problem during ordering through Rubin Bike? I wanted to see if this was an error or if the shipment has probably been cancelled. I'm wanting to purchase one of these for my bike. Thanks for any input you all can provide.

I ordered one from Rubin but they never shipped and I was given a refund after a couple weeks. I ordered another one from JKlapin and that one is in transit now.

Thanks Garland. That is great to hear. Did you have to open a dispute with them to get your refund? I need to order one from JKlapin then. I'm glad to hear that your's is in transit. Is Jklapin the other store that Bob listed to possibly buy from? If not, could I get you to post a website link of their product? Thanks so much for your help.

Hello dear friend,

Actually I do not have a Lectric XP, but I have a very similar (Chinese) model. If you dig through Aliexpress or Alibaba, you will find that these are all the same bikes made from the same design. Yes, they come from a few different factories in China, because the Chinese have no problem knocking off products from factories next door. They have no understanding of intellectual property. What makes Lectric so special is that they are US-based with US-based support. These bikes are expensive, and if you buy anything from Aliexpress or Alibaba, despite what the seller says and what the item advertisement says and what the Aliexpress website even says, these things do not come with any warranty whatsoever. When you buy from Lectric, you have someone you can actually call and talk to. If you live near by their warehouse, you have somewhere you can even go.

Anyways, here is a photo of what my battery looks like on the interior. I had a problem where the thing was not accepting a charge. The charger just kept clicking off as if it was full. Nor would it power up my bike. A multimeter to the connector at the hinge of the bike (not the plug for charging) showed a steady 42v. I took it too an ebike shop and they suspected the same thing I did, either a bad BMS or some bad cells. So they opened it up and did some individual testing and found that one group of four cells was bad (not sure if it was just one cell or all four). I asked for a photo just so I can know what these things look like on the inside. So here it is. Obviously Chinese knock-off Samsung cells I believe (https://baiguan-battery.en.alibaba....ectric_Bicycle_Li_Ion_18650_Battery_Cell.html). Alot of the Chinese manufacturers will claim they are legit LG or Samsung or whatever, but then they say that they had to put a label on the batteries over the official Samsung/LG logo for some kind of legal purpose. And if you open the batteries up, you will either find no label with no LG/Samsung logo, or a label with nothing under it. It's just how it is.

Unfortunately no bike shop around repairs batteries, so this is basically a block of uselessness to me now and I just had to buy another. Just thought I would share for anyone that is curious or if anyone is outside their warranty period and is a good 18650 hobbyist. Remember, as always, this is serious business dealing with these batteries, so don't touch them unless you know what you are doing. That is why I just took mine to a shop and if you are newb like me, probably you should too.

Best of luck.

Yeah I am fairly confident the Lectric has legit LG cells (M26 aren't great cells even if they are legit LG) just because of legal and liability reasons since they are US based. Most of the stuff you would order from actual chinese companies are usually fake or completely different, theres a guy who breaks down the Mate X battery that says its a 14ah panasonic but its got LG M26 cells that are 2600mah so its actually 10.4ah.

I found the battery case on aliexpress so we could build our own battery using good higher capacity cells, a 14ah pack is feasible.

Lectric uses the version B, i measured it and its exact.

AliExpress automatically started a refund process when the seller did not ship within a week or so, I didn’t have to do anything but wait. JKlapin was the other seller Bob listed in his post. However, I just checked the listing and the shipping charge has gone way up-it was $21 when I ordered so my total cost was $115. There will be others selling the same thing, so I would look around before ordering.

Ordering from AliExpress can be a crapshoot, but there are great deals to be had. I have been burned on some items that were $5 or less (never received, no real way to dispute after enough time passes) but I have had good luck overall.

The Ruben store person wanted me to purchase a second one and then he would issue me a refund. I'm sure he would've wanted me to purchase a second one. Would you purchase a second one from the Ruben store? I opened a dispute and it says that I'll receive a refund, but it will be several days before I will know. If the stores that sell them on Aliexpress have low inventory of say 7 or less, would this be an indicator that would keep you from buying a bike fork from that store? I just want to see how you / others think about purchasing the bike fork. Thanks for any and all input.

Does anyone use the "walk" mode, and any good/bad results using it?
I haven't had any problems, but you do have to pay attention when using it because you could possibly create an accident or possibly lose your bike if you were close to an overlook of a mountain or steep hill drop off in elevation. That's my thoughts.
