Inexpensive aka cheap bikes?

I know,I know, you get what you pay for. Still, at this point I can't afford a better e bike and have been looking at the really inexpensive (<$1000) bikes on Amazon,Walmart etc.
I'm not decided on style yet. I'd be riding mainly on paved roads and paths, some dirt paths, maybe a very occasional, very easy single track.
Any brand suggestions? Style suggestions? Oh, and I'm quite short at 5'2". My current analog bike has a 16" frame, 27" stand over.

I got the Ride Scoozy Semi Fat which is a step thru small wheel folder for $1100 from Ride Scoozy but sometimes it sells for $1000 on Amazon. I am 5’3.5” and the bike is very adjustable. The Aventon Pace 350 is also $1000. My bike is fine for most uses. I would not use it for serious off road. I got my bike to use with my RV but like it so much I use it all the time. My observations about bikes less than $1000 is that where they really cheap out is the battery so you don’t get much range. Also a lot of the cheap bikes have one frame size you will find too big. There are decent options right at $1000. What I like most about my bike is that it is very adjustable and quite comfortable for a short person.
