How many miles a year do you ride?

I ride between seven and 8000 miles a year, between commuting and our E tandem. The last few years I was too sick to ride as much, though I'm getting back in there again, but we don't tend to ride on weekdays after work because my wife gets off too late and it's dark and usually raining in winter now. I used to average approximately 17 miles on a commute and intend to 15 miles a day on weekdays after that on the tandem and weekends 40 or some miles twice. Now I do the same 17 miles but we don't ride a tandem till the weekend and we tend to do about 70 miles over the weekend and summer. I think we can get it back up there again. I just figured it out less than six years I put over 53,000 miles on e bikes. I first bike was a bulls brand with a bosch motor at 14,000 miles on it when the bearings on the motor rusted out, I bought a new bike, but then bosch replaced the motor even out of warranty for free. I track and replaced it with now as almost 19,000 miles in 2.5 years the bulls got 14,000 and exactly 2 years are Bosch powered tandem just hit 20,000 miles less than five years we would've had more but one crash that took us out for a month and my wife's shoulder replacement surgery that kept her from riding for four months. What were used to it? We were doing about 100 to 150 miles a week on the tandem now we're about 80 miles but I think we can bring it back up during the summer. Ride by GPS does not have everything but this is pretty close

Very impressive numbers! Way behind you.

It's been 3 years and 3 months since my ebike-powered return to cycling after 20+ years of very little riding. The first 2 years, all on a hub-drive commuter, averaged ~1,500 mi/yr.

The 3rd year nearly doubled that at just over 2,800 mi — almost all of it on a Vado SL 1. The 4th has been off to a slow start for various reasons, but I'm hoping for at least 2,000 mi.

I have no idea, so I had to do some research,..

It turns out that I only had 7000 km on my Schwalbe tire that started shedding and detreadding itself.

I thought I had 8000 when I submitted my warranty claim.
I didn't bother checking the odometer.
I didn't want to get off my ass and look. 😁

I still haven't gotten off my ass. lol

I am a light weight. Especially this year.
Started in 2018 doing 600kms or so on my Fathom, and graduating over the years to around 2000kms in 2022 I think on my Stance.
This year due to crap I won't get into I'm pushing 1000kms.
Ugh...
Looking forward to more...

In ten years of riding ebikes I average between 3,000 and 4,000 miles per year. I ride four times per week, sometimes more, some times less. I just enjoy riding without tracking my mileage, my speed, my time, or my altitude.

I do maybe about 2k miles annually.
I live in a small city and I'm 99% on two wheels for mechanized transportation. Most directions are soon water.
As I ride several different ebikes, and not all of them have odometers, my actual mileage is an unknown.

I entered the e-bike realm in June of 2025. Therefore my reply to yearly mileage total is of no value. Though, I love seeing everyone's mileage, both short and long! just like I love seeing anyone pedaling a bike with or past me on the trail or road. We are having fun.

Though I've biked since I arrived in San Francisco in 1990, I have never tracked mileage. Around 2010 I connected with Mapmyride using a wahoo GPS. none of my riding friends were on it. I didn't even know about Strava. After my 6 day Italy bike tour, I learned about Strava. Cool! So I signed up. but no record of my Puglia and Mt Etna rides. Haha. Don't care. So I dropped MapMyRide and started using Strava.

I do not have any close, local friends who ride more than me...unfortunately. They just ride. I am sure this is common for many of you.

I know the biking enthusiasts range from 20-somethings to over-80s (I don't think many realize this). Myself, I occationally ride with an 80+ rider, and I am the youngster at 59. And I rarely do group rides, when I do they are manual MTB rides...eBikes are not allowed (as they not legal on our local trails).

So with that said....

This year, I've rode the most mileage and elevation that I've ever accomplished, on both my regular bikes and my eBike. (Again, this is just my recreational riding , since I am not part of any group or team.)

So today, Strava is informing me of the following:

bike (MTB and road):

112 activities
1,417 miles
107,246ft
132h, 36m

e-Bike
39 activities
627.8 miles
41.822ft
44h, 6m

I would estimate 12,000 to 15,000 per year with a large + or minus since I don’t track it. Depends on my medical stuff and falls mostly. I was just out a month between a fall and cataract surgeries. I try to go about 106 every other day but usually make the 84 mile turnaround. Depends on weather, chores etc.
